One year ago, we had our roof replaced. We have been trying to get payment settled with this company, but they didn't give the proper paperwork to our insurance company. Meanwhile, the roofing company has been sending us bills with finance charges added on since we haven't made our payments. The insurance company told us that we are NOT to pay any finance charges since it is the roofing company's fault for not sending in the correct papers.

We received yet another bill (with finance charges) and I called my insurance company. The guy I have been dealing with said that he and the roofing company made an agreement on the cost of the roof for $1300 less than what the cost should have been. He was very suprised to hear that the bill I received was still at the original price.

Long story short, my wife took the cost the insurance company gave us, deducted our down payment, and the advertising allowance that we are supposed to get and I gave them our final payment. We received a phone call from the roofing company today that says we do not get the advertising allowance - it wasn't written up in the original proposal.

Pray for patience for me as I deal with this company and try to get things settled.

Well, the roofing company called my home and talked with my wife - wrong thing to do - she knows just what to say. My wife asked them why they are billing us $1300 more than the insurance company said to bill us. The lady had no answer. I guess it was a long conversation - too long to post here - but the roofing company couldn't answer my wife's questions about the billing. They just said that they have the right to take us to court if we don't pay them more money.

It's not the insurance company's fault - the roofing company is the one that is demanding the money.

The roofing company led the insurance company to believe that they did work which they did not do. When I called the insurance company asking them why we didn't get reimbursed for it, they were shocked to find out the roofing company did not do the work. We got a check from the insurance company within a week for the work that wasn't done.

We had another roofing company come out and look at the roof - just to get another opinion of the jOB that was done. He said the house was fine, but the garage was not done right. There were places where the shingles were not laying down right, so the first roofing company just nailed them down to make it look right. There was even part of the rafter that was rotted away, and rather than fix it first, they just covered it up.

I suppose its over, hope it went well.

We just got through have new windows put in our house, plus sliding put on all of the upper wood work.

Everything is done except for a sliding door we're replacing with a French Door. This door will not be in till next year, well that seems like a very long time, next week. But all has gone well, all work done properly. But we had a contractor that we knew, and he knew us. Its an A1 jOB.

Only one thing wrong, during Christmas we had stuff scatter all over our yard and it was not Christmas decorations, but we didn't mind, it was for a good cause.
