Hey, everybody. Recently, a Bennigans in our area went out of business and the building is up for sale, along with much of their equipment.

I'm seriously considering buying it and opening a restaurant there.

Many years ago, my family owned three successful restaurants and I've done a lot of catering, so I have the experience.

We're debt free and money isn't an issue.

But I just don't know if it would be wise to do that in this economy.

Please pray for wisdom on this.

I admire your entrepreneurial spirit and will be praying that God gives you wisdom in this decision. It's a big step, no doubt.

war_eagle.... I owned my own hobby store for five years..... Be prepared to work 24/7 and 365 days a year. Make sure this does not harm your relationship with the Lord. But if you think the Lord would have you proceed, do it for His glory! I'll be praying..... Let us know what you do...

Thanks for your prayers everyone.

Just to let you know where we are, my wife was a forensic accountant and she and I have been going over this.

What we've decided is that, the economy being the way it is, this would not be a wise time to open a new business.

However, we've been doing a lot of research and talking to some real estate people we trust and we've decided that if we can just hold off for a couple of months, the commerical real estate bubble is going to burst and we're going to put in a bid on several of these properties.

So, plans for a restaurant are off for now, but we're still going to put in a bid on the property (and several others) for investment purposes.
