The grass is hardly growing at all now. We've got very little rain and with this heat much of the grass is browning. It's looking like I won't need to mow this week.

Here while back when we got rain, seems others around us got more. We had less than an inch, yet others around us got 2 inches are better. Had to go for Linda's doctor appointment yesterday, its about 50 miles distance. Some areas had a bit of green others where brown.

They lifted the burn ban for about a week, but its back on. The pastures of mine that are leased look worse than they ever did.

I saw a fellow cutting grass that's not fit for hay yesterday, yet that is about the only thing they have to make hay out of.

They have put out warnings around here about using fireworks with everything being so dry. Most probably won't pay much attention to the warnings, it seems each year there are many who are blasting fireworks where it's illegal and using illegal fireworks in plain sight yet the police never do anything about it unless there is an accident, like after someone blows off a finger or sets a field or house on fire.

We broke 100 today and it's 98 degrees upstairs and 88 degrees downstairs. Can't do much at all in this heat.

Heat warnings for the entire weekend now. They are calling for 90s or higher at least to July 10th! No chance of any real rain during that time either, perhaps a pop-up shower that won't amount to much, but that's only a slight possibility.

Many may be left high & dry this summer.

I've got a small flower garden of wild flowers about 1/2 way between my house & the highway, the sun is trying its best to burn them up.

I heard that i might rain come September, but you know how it is, you can hear anything.

In all this heat I'm eating less and sweating more. I wonder if that's a good diet strategy to lose weight!?

Yes, I generally lose wight in hot weather, in hot weather, for me, its difficult to eat much.

The weather man was comparing this to a very dry summer in the last 80's, didn't even compare it to last summer.
