Yes, gas prices drop some, & the grass stops growing. With that said, lots of the yards grass will die out, causing yards to look bad, & went it rains wash ruts in them.

I live on a hill side, & I need my grass for it holds the soil in my yard when it comes a downpour. Thankfully I've got two 90 foot wells & can water it.

That's usually when they are seen around here too, either late afternoon, early evening or early in the morning around dawn. They run a lot at night because a lot of them get hit on the roads. I try to pray about that whenever I have to travel. Most often they are not out running around in the open around noon on a hot day. On days like that they tend to stay in the timber for the shade and down in the draws where it's cooler.

Lots of them get hit around here, grassing on the road sides. But, many of them are not as scary as they use to be, lots of time when going by them they will just keep on grazing. I suppose some of them are getting use to the cars & truck coming by.

There has been times when we would see 30 to 40 of them in on the road side just a grazing.

I had a close encounter with a deer about 6 this morning. Wasn't much more than a couple feet between us by the time I got the car slowed down and the deer finally moved after it jumped out of a steep ditch and landed right in the road.

A few years ago a large own came up out of a ditch heading right for my windshield. I thought it would come right through! Thankfully it just grazed the top part of my windshield with no harm to the car and I guess the owl was okay too because it kept going. For bit though I thought I would have a face full of glass and owl.

Such encounters makes one very thankful for God's protection!

I suspect, a large own, is a large owl being as the last word in that paragraph is owl! I was getting a bit worried until I reached the word owl, for I did not know what a large own was!
