So.... when you make mac n cheese out of a box...do you measure your ingredients or have you made it so long you just throw everything in there?

(I throw things in)

Sometimes I cut up a hotdog or two in it, or add a fistful of ground meat to make it a bit more nourishing. At only 30 cents a box it can't be beat!

(unless you are spoiled like me and buy Kraft...but hey .66 is still okay... :lol )

Only RICH people get to eat Kraft in the blue box! I bet y'all eat it as the side dish too and not for the main meal! :duh

Oh, we eat it as a main meal. My dad hates Mac & Cheese so it's something my mom makes us sometimes for lunch when he's at work, or when he is working too late to come home for dinner. :lol

My mom has never added anything to it, lol. The only thing she's added stuff like that to is ramen noodles. :smile

My wife makes the most incredibly delish mac 'n' cheese from scratch. She throws that together so quickly, I don't see how a boxed mix can beat her. It is rich with extra sharp cheddar and is to die for. :drool :drool :drool

I do not eat it plain, though. Instead I add spaghetti sauce to it and have poor man's lasagna. :lol Also, Bush's baked beans on top of it right out of the oven is also very good. :hungry: :drool

I make baked mac 'n cheese as an occasional side dish. I make the box mix and then put it in a baking pan and put shredded cheddar or colby over it. I think it tastes better that way. Most of the time though, I make macaroni and cheese using velveeta. :hungry:

we can't eat that cheap stuff either, kraft or better yet Annies for us. I love the real stuff, but the family dosen't so they win! :loco We mostly have it for lunch. I've added tuna or chunk chicken and peas with a little mayo instead of the milk before and it is a hit at our house.
