Which one is best? What are the pros and cons of what you like/dislike? Is there some keywords I should watch for to indicate durability?

Calfskin leather is the most durable. I've had mine for over 5 years and it's just as new as was when I first got it (moisture-resistant and flexible).

Goat-skin is without doubt the very best. My mother had a pair of goat-skin gloves that she wore very often for more than sixty-five years and they never wore out. She gave them away before she died. They were still in excellent shape even then.

I'm really diggin' this French Morocco leather!

It is kinda pebble like in texture, so its not as smooth as calf/goatskin.

But, its supple and really limp.

It makes for a really neat-o Bible (after all shouldn't our swords look as sharp as whats inside?).

As for durability we'll see. I will admit I am pretty hard on my Bibles (I take it everywhere practically) and they have to endure a myriad of terrors. So we'll see!

My husband ordered a goatskin leather Bible for our asst. pastor when he got ordained as a gift from our church.... the goatskin was more expensive than the calfskin so I assume its better.

I felt it and it was the softest Bible cover I'd ever felt.

The one I've been carrying for the last 6 or so years is moroccan leather, its holding us just great.
