Door-To-Door Visitation At Your Church.

Hi Everyone,
This is a topic idea I've been thinking of for some time. I just have a few quesitons:
(if you answer "no" to the first one, you don't have to answer anymore)
(1) Does your church have a door-to-door visitation program?

(2) How large is your church in terms of members (if you don't want to be too specific, that's fine)?

(3) How many people usually attend visitation?

Our church has door to door visitation and even though we only have 17 members 9 of them come to visitation.

We have a rather large membership, plus a college, so we have different times for witnessing set up. Ladies can go on Tues. afternoon; anyone can go on Sat. morning; and there are a number of people who go other times during the week, according to their schedules. We go after we are done with our nursing home ministry on Sat. mornings, and sometimes an evening during the week.

Twice a year we have what we call church-wide visitation. Maps are made up, and people are paired two together, and on a Thursday evening we meet together, preacher says a few words, we sing, pray and head out. It's exciting.

my church does have door-to-door visitation every Saturday... about 8 - 10 people show up for that. and we have about 5-6 people who go to the home for the elderly at the same time.

We have one visitation day during the winter and two days during the summer....we have a regular sunday morning crowd of about 70-ish, sometimes 80....but only a small handful come out soulwinning...maybe 4-6 max. Sometimes in the summer we will have a few extras but not faithfully every week.

Our church members are really good at pitching in for something like a work day or a church activity but it is harder to get them coming faithfully every single week to something "extra" like soulwinning.

3. Im by myself or with one other usually the senior pastor or his son. on a good day 5

Churches are dropping the ball in this area. I have noticed personally that when Churches visit, visitors show up on sundays. I dont think I ever have had a person I door knocked come to church, but there are visitors that come when we go out. The Lord's blessing as I see it.

We have visitation on Tuesday nights. We have a church membership of about 250. We have about 10 to 20 out. We have the youth visitation on Wed. night before prayer meeting. Not sure how many come to that. I hear they have a good turn out. Many men go out other times during the week and weekend also.

I was just out door knocking, and I noticed the oxygen delievery truck at the next house i was headed to. I tought, no, dont go there, they are busy. Praise God the Holy Ghost spoke and said GO.

I knocked on the door and a woman named Hazel answered the door. She was wearing oxygen. I told her who I was and why I was there. She invited me in and told me she was getting over Pneumonia and her husband was very ill as well.

She said she goes to the episcapol church but was Baptist most of her life. I asked her if I could pray with her. WHen we were finished praying, she was in tears and thanking me over and over. This woman needed prayer and God knew it, and i almost blew it.

Im so sad I almost missed it :sad But so glad the Lord spoke and redirected my path. :smile
