I've been looking online more often for recipes too. I used to be a cookbook junkie. I have 5 years each of "Taste of Home" and "Quick Cooking" annual recipe books, and lately all they've done is collect dust. My "philosophy" lately with regard to cooking has become, "the simpler the better". I do use a recipe when baking, though -- if you get the mix of ingredients, timing, or temperature wrong in a baked good, it's less "forgiving". :lol The same goes for candy making.

Yeah I usually throw dinner together. I am slowly collecting a few recipes though, mostly since my son has to eat homemade now to avoid preservatives. I've found nifty things like homemade taco spice mix and a really yummy (and bad for you) alfredo sauce, stuff like that. Even a tomato sauce without tomatoes that isn't half bad (my son can no longer have tomato products), made with carrots and beets and spices.

I'm a Generation X-er who is just now finding out that there are ways to make just about anything....even taco spice....without buying a package!!!!

I hear you on that one. We made our own taco spices a few times - found one we really did not like! Found a couple that were good.

We make quite of bit our our food from scratch due to Nathaniel's food allergies - eggs, nuts, milk, and soy.
