I wish you all a thankful Thanksgiving.

We don't have thanksgiving over here, wish we did.

You could do it on your own.

All that's needed is a thankful heart and some family.

A bit of food helps keep those gathering busy and fed.

The American pasteur of a church we visit in France when we can, had their thanksgiving last week.  We would like to get down to visit them for Thanksgiving sometime,  but have not managed it so far.

Invicta, perhaps next year you might suggest a church thanksgiving dinner to this American pastor. He could announce it well in advance and solicit what dish each contributor might bring.

This can be a time of wonderful fellowship for church members, plus an opportunity to invite someone that is not a member.

They do have a church Thanksgiving. Here is an extract from their recent newsletter.  The pastor, Clare (In spite of the name he is male.) is disabled and spends most of his day in an electric wheelchair.   Carine and her children are a family from war torn central Africa who have had their application for residence rejected and are in the process of appealing the decision.  Pasteur and his wife do a great ministry to those from a nearby asylum seekers centre.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I wonder what kind of wonderful sauces the French church would put on their turkey.

Not sure but as the Pasteur is American they probably have the same as you.  French don't normally have Thanksgiving.  They do have Black Friday though, for the last couple of years at least. Black weekend, even.

s it happens we went to Calais for the day.  As the sea was a bit rough the ferries were late soit was rather a long day.  We set off at 7.15am and arrived home at 10.15 pm . Had Roast Ham.  You could have piquant sauce, Madeira sauce, sauce au poirve (pepper sauce) or sauce tomate (tomato sauce)
