Cranford Baptist Church is holding its Holiday Bible Club this week, with the help of a team from Carey Baptist Church 25 miles away.

Last week we distributed 2,000 invitations, & today 54 youngsters came for Bible stories, songs, quizzes & games. About 15 would be already known to the church. It was a mix of many races & religions.

I'm not taking an active part, but was there to talk to parents who stayed to listen - & I think the contact with the parents is an important part of the outreach. If they are interested, they & the children will come after the week is ended.

Many churches are holding such activities, so general prayer is welcomed.

Are these the same as our Vacation Bible Schools (VBS)? Our VBS run for a week, M-F, for about 3 hours in the day. When I was a kid, we had Neighborhood Bible Clubs - these were usually one evening a week for the summer. That is great how many kids you had come!

Pastor's report on facebook:

HBC Day 4: another great day and the Lord brought in 55 children and a few parents as well. One mother took a Bible and some parents were asking questions and showing great interest in the gospel. Please remember us in your prayers.

    Last day today.

I pray the Lord uses these to reach the children, parents and other family members for Christ.

Our church is having VBS this week. Another church, about seven miles from here, had to cancel their VBS this year so many of their children are coming to our VBS this year.

We always have an ending program, which we keep short, where the children sing songs. This draws the parents and some other relatives and friends in. That gives us the opportunity to present the Gospel to all these folks, many who likely would not otherwise be in a church. Everyone also receives a little brochure which has our church hours, contact information and a brief statement.
