Did We Waste Our Time Going To Free Iraq...

The Iraqi weapons programs was always to serve as a deterrent against Iran. The only ones Saddam was a real or potential threat to were those who opposed him in Iraq and to the Iranians. Saddam had worked behind the scenes providing America with intelligence against various terrorists. Iraq wasn't a threat to America.

Today, with Saddam gone and Iraq falling to militant Islamists, we not only have Iraq as a potential real threat but Iran is left unchecked in the region and since the fall of Saddam they have greatly increased all of the nuclear ambitions. Iranian influence in the region has grown tremendously. If Iran can now succeed in getting their people in power in some of these other countries they will be able to dominate the region.

Meanwhile, how hypocritical of those in government who claimed Iraq was a threat to America and had to be invaded when North Korea and China both possess actual nuclear weapons; of which China admittedly has over two dozen aimed at American cities, yet we didn't have to invade them.

China is America's largest potential threat yet rather than confronting that threat and trying to minimize the threat, America pours billions of dollars into China helping them to build their military so they can reach their stated of goal of being able to confront America anywhere in Asia or the Pacific with the expectation of being able to win.

Maybe so, maybe not.

But during the Crimea takeover, one Russian leader said "Russia is the only country able to turn the US into nuclear ashes.

On another note, Blair was on the news yesterday, saying that it is not his fault, it was the fault of the West for not going into Syria.

Unfortunately we live in a time where we (the West) have bumbling leadership. We involve ourselves in other peoples business to our own harm, and theirs. Where we should be doing something, often within our own borders, we either do nothing or we do that which makes things worse.

Crimea has been Russian since Catherine the Great. Even with the legal status of Crimea being allowed to Ukraine after the break-up of the Soviet Union, the Crimea remained de facto Russian. The agreements and assurances the West gave to Russia when they dissolved the Soviet Union were violated by the West much in the same way the American government made such to American Indians and then acted as if the agreements didn't exist.

Russia is looking out for its own best interests right on her own border. This is something the Western nations should take a lesson from and tend to their own border area prOBlems. Syria is in the midst of a civil war with at least two different radical, militant Islamist groups seeking to overthrow the Syrian government. Did England or America want other nations jumping into their nations taking sides against them during their civil wars?

We err greatly when we think we can control the world. That's the hubris of the West which still holds the West in a hangover from the days of Colonialism and empire building. We can't control our own nations, yet we think we can control others and effect other nations through our "wisdom" and power and thus form a perfect world. Such arrogant pride backfires time and again.

Unless there is a great awakening within Western nations we will see their steady decline. Meanwhile, as the West rejects Christ, in other parts of the world the Gospel is spreading and many are turning to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Blair was on again today saying Britain and America must intervene in Iraq.

I see that Russian bombers were seen  off the Californian coast and Alaska recently and also off the coasts of UK and Holland and were last seen heading to Scandinavia.
