A Hard Prayer Request To Answer

We have an old saint from our church who is now 96 years old.  His wife went on to glory over 20 years ago. All his kids were saved and have gone on ahead of him.  He has been living in assisted care facilities now for over 15 years and has no living relatives any longer that he has any fellowship with.  He is terminally ill now with cancer, and has asked we NOT pray for healing.  He wants to go home, and wants us to pray that his trip home is as fast and as comfortable as possible.  How do you pray that someone dies?  Do you simply pray for God's will in his life?  Is it a sin for him to no longer fight for life?  Is refusing life extending treatments a sin for him.  Is he "committing suicide" by his refusal to prolong a life he considers over here on earth?  I live in Oregon which is infamous as a state that allows physician assisted suicide. He has told us he would never ask for a physician to "hurry" the inevitable, but will he feel that way if his cancer progresses slowly and he is subjected to intense prolonged pain and suffering?

I would pray for God to comfort him and to draw him closer to the Lord as the end comes. It is no sin to refuse medical treatment. God will take him at his appointed time.  Which sounds like it will be soon.
