Only took one sermon!!  My wife is a fast learner.

have more problems with some of the men's pornographic/inappropriate  tatoos showing.  We had to insist one man not show up to church in short sleeves.  He was offended and never returned, but the tatoos were definitely bad news and not appropriate.

Believer or not; the situation had to be dealt with immediately. The old saying about one apple ruining the whole barrel may be appropriate. Letting things of this nature so on will evidentially create problems among the assembly. The creation and purpose of the local church was for the believers; not the unbelievers

Did he hear the Gospel? I understand what you are saying but people can be saved while observing God work at church on His believers. I hope you didn't just send him out because of tattoos! You think God is worried or upset that he might have a sleeve? Hope not because he would be upset with me because if my tattoos! (FYI, I got them before Jesus opened my eyes)

I know exactly what you are saying, Jeffrey.  Also, I have known backslidden Christians that get tattoos, as well.  Men that go off to the Armed forces and come back with tats.

We did not "send him out" over the tatoos but simply asked him to cover them at church when sitting with small children in attendance.  That he refused to accommodate us in this reasonable request could not have been predicted or helped.  He would have been welcome to stay for years to come with his tatoos hidden and would have never been asked to leave.  We could not have allowed him to sit in the congregation every week as a walking porn magazine anymore than we could have allowed him to open a laptop in church and play porn videos in sight of everyone.
