Ezekiel 3:4-9 -- "And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.  For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel; Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand.  Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.  But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.  Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.  As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house."

I found this passage quite interesting in recent Bible meditation, especially verses 8-9.  Sometimes the Lord our God grants the gift of hard-headness unto His own faithful servants.  This he does in order that his servants might stand firm in confrontation against the stubbornly rebellious and might stand fearless in the face of their spiteful reproach.

Now, this passage is not intended to justify the ungodly stubbornness of a carnal heart.  Yet this passage is intended to encourage the godly faithfulness of the Lord's servants.

Just a thought from God's Holy Word.  I pray that it might be found good unto the useful edifying, administering God's grace unto the "hearers."

Hard headed wasn't enough for Nehemiah.

Nehemiah 13:25 And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
