Considering guns did not exist then, ma'am, that is impossible for me to do.

Let me ask you a question, though: do you consider a woman carrying a gun to be ladylike and feminine?

...Though I find it immensely hard to believe, ma'am, one could consider it feminine and ladylike.

I am not asking whether a feminine woman can do it. I am asking whether the action itself is feminine and ladylike.

Because you already believe this way, and therefore are not diminishing your femininity by doing it. I apologize, ma'am, if that is not clear enough; if not, I'll try to explain better.
