I'm surprised it wasn't shut down earlier.

I doubt Obama had anything to do with it ONLY because it's important. He's too busy raising AWARENESS about things, as if he's running for office. I don't get it. He's not campaigning anymore. But maybe it's better he's NOT doing anything important.

The 1st article I posted mentioned the other email service that shut down.

 

Following Levison's move, Silent Circle, another provider of secure online services, announced Thursday night that it would also end its own encrypted e-mail service.

Smart move for that company too. I just don't see how email can be protected by any server. It can be sent to other servers. The info can be printed out, written down, etc. There's just no way. When there are dishonest people (Obama administration) there's always around the rules.

 

Honestly, what would happen to Snowden if he came back to US?

A cushy prison with tennis courts and golf courses? It'd be in trial so long no one would remember why it even went to trial.

Maybe it would happen quickly for Snowden, the high ups seems to want to make an example out of him. Plus Army Private First Class Bradley Manning trial took place rather quickly.

They will put Snowden away as quickly and harshly as they can.  They have got to scare any other whistle blower's to keep in their place and keep their mouths shut about what is going on.  Anyone who thinks they are spying on us for our own good is not thinking straight or believes the lies they spoon feeding us.

Your Right! Because it cast a bad, revealed how sorry our government is, that something being illegal for them means nothing, light on our government, & made Americans even less trusting of our government. And that is the main reason they want to put him away.

He's in the right place, Putin is an expert on such things.  All he (Putin) needs is a little incentive ($$$$) from the Obama Administration and Snowden will go skiing in Siberia forever or slip, fall and die.
