Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson started work today on the toughest jOB in America: coming up with a plan to cut Online Baptist budget deficits.
President Barack OBama named Bowles, a Democrat from North Carolina, and Simpson, a former Republican senator from Wyoming, to head the OB Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Their task is to build bipartisan consensus on a plan for the Baptist board to balance its budget, excluding interest payments on its debt, by 2015.

In my opinion no spine was needed. He did it to take any responsibility off of HIS back. Now all he has to do is say "the commission did it." Any president worth his salt would lead... not appoint a commission. And that is true for Republicans and Independents as well as democrats.

While I agree with you in principle, I'm still impressed (actually the better word would prOBably be surprised) he made this call and didn't just say, "Oh well, it's congresses fault and we aren't going to do anything." Now, do I believe he is serious about cutting spending and balancing the books and paying down the debt? .........NO! I believe he is all show and talk and no action. He's incompetent. He's an amateur who can give a good speech. There is no real substance or leadership.

Plus, he has gotten very good at blaming President Bush and others for ALL prOBlems that comes his way. I feel sure that he must have been a sorry a community organizer.

I feel he will go down in history as the worse president ever. Even President Clinton looks good when compared to Mr. OBama.

I thing the reference was to quality of speech, not content of speech.

President Clinton at least showed some smarts, when he found out how unpopular heath care was he dropped it like a hot potato. President OBama is not doing that, he is still trying to force it on us.
