Members trc123 Posted January 28, 2010 Members Posted January 28, 2010 How does spending $787,000,000,000 to "save" 2,000,000 jOBs add up to something efficient and worth the money. I mean isn't that like $393,500 per jOB? And isn't that only for a finite term like one year? Certainly we must be able to do better for much less money per unit? Are the mass of US citizenry that stupid? Quote
Members Anon Posted January 28, 2010 Members Posted January 28, 2010 I dunno but he should just send out checks to 2,000,000 people....that would be nice! Quote
Members JerryNumbers Posted January 28, 2010 Members Posted January 28, 2010 You know, its always been that way with our government. Anything they do, anything they buy, always cost our us taxpayers much more that it would cost a private company or individual. I suppose they think, the more it cost, the better it is, or as in this case creating jOBs at a cost of $393,500 each, must be much better than creating jOBs that pays only 20,000 to 50,000 per year. Seriously, My thought is how much or what did our congressmen get out of this deal? Quote
Members His by Grace Posted January 28, 2010 Members Posted January 28, 2010 Sadly, I believe the average HS Graduate these day's isn't able to read, comprehend and apply what they have just read to how this will have a impact on them personnally. The next thought of the application to society at large- isn't even a thought process I believe they have ever grasp! You read information , made the connection that this wasn't a good use of fund's and then broke it down to a point that applied to people using your $#'s so many could easily understand the foolishness. I'm sure you stopped yourself from breaking the info down more than you did because you had made your point. These reasoning skill's must be applied in a normal everyday life to be second nature as it is to most of us here on OB. Members 1Timothy115 Posted January 29, 2010 Members Posted January 29, 2010 The entire 787,000,000,000 wasn't spent on those 2,000,000 "saved/created" jOBs. There is still a HUGE pot of that first stimulus bill just sitting there devaluating against the...yen that bankrolled it. By the way, it ended up being over 30,000,000,000 more than the original 787 B. P.S. Each family in the U.S. owes $400,000+ to clean up the deficit so, pay up. Coming Attractions! The IRS will have the leading roll in an unpopular film; "A bank account near you." Quote
Members Invicta Posted January 29, 2010 Members Posted January 29, 2010 What about the billions spent on space travel. Or nonsense items like the European Accelerator? Quote
Members JerryNumbers Posted January 30, 2010 Members Posted January 30, 2010 National Debt Clocks and Savings Clocks I think they've already got us over the top, and we are on a down hill grade and the brakes have gone out, and there is no one who can repair them. Quote
