A quote on today's devotional page. http://utmost.org/ Both nations and individuals have tried Christianity and abandoned it, because it has been found too difficult; but no man has ever gone through the crisis of deliberately making Jesus Lord and found Him to be a failure. Washington, DC, tops list of cities where people curse at work A new survey finds that employees who swear frequently on the job are less likely to get a promotion. And the worst offenders are workers in our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. The CareerBuilder study found some interesting and often conflicting results in their survey of 2,298 hiring managers and 3,892 nongovernment employees. For example, 81 percent of respondents said cursing in the workplace brings an employee's professionalism into question. And 64 percent of employees said they'd think less of a co-worker who swears regularly while on the job. In addition, 57 percent of managers said they're less …

Chicago values and the Fruit of Islam Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel waltzed into the Chick-fil-A controversy Wednesday when he declared, “Chick-fil-A’s values are not Chicago value. And if you’re gonna be part of the Chicago community, you should reflect Chicago values.” He wants to block the restaurant chain from expanding in his city because its owner made public statements in defense of traditional marriage. It’s unclear what Mr. Emanuel meant by the expression “Chicago values.” The Windy City is known for many things, but being a moral beacon is not one of them. During the Obama administration the expression “Chicago style” has not come to refer to a caring, cooperati…

I've been hearing som ads on the radio talking about how important it is for a nation to have Christians in leadership. The ad talks about how necessary for anything good to come about that we have godly leaders. The ad then talks about the importance of voting for president. The ad never says who we should vote for for president but it tells us that we should vote for a godly president. The choices it seems we will have is between a man who claims to be a Christian while denying the fundamentals of the faith and embracing many aspecst of Islam and a man who is clearly 100% Mormon. Neither of these qualify as either a biblical Christian or a godly man. Along these lin…

I'm reading through Proverbs and I've come across some verses I'm not sure what the meaning is. I found a study Bible today but the commentator skipped the verses in question. So I ask y'all your understanding. Proverbs 16:4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Psalm 86:11 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm leaving the forum. I know that I'm not that well-known here, but I do have a few friends who many wonder why I've "disappeared". First of all, I want to thank Bro. Matt for having this forum. Because of this forum, the Lord allowed me to be a help to a few individuals. My greatest desire is to be used by the Lord in whatever capacity He gives me, and I wouldn't have had those opportunities without this forum. So, thank you Bro. Matt. Above that, I praise the Lord for giving me those opportunities! Next, if I've offended anyone during my time here, I ask for your forgiveness. I can think of one instance …

For those that don't know I have been working on a end times movie for some time. Lord willing we will be filming July 20th 21st and the 22nd after church if we don't get things finished. Please pray for us. We are also looking for someone to preach about a 5 minute sermon. It must cover salvation, rapture and that those who reject the Gospel will not be given another chance. Oh and the Bible verses must be KJV. If you are interested please record your sermon in HD if possible and upload it to YouTube. Then post it at our Facebook pagehttp://www.facebook.com/InSuchAnHour or message it to me and I will upload it. We will then pick which one we like best. God bless.

ROADKILL CHURCHES July 19, 2012 NewsWithViews.com By Lee Duigon I would like to describe America’s mainline Protestant churches as roadkill, only it’s awfully hard to run yourself over with a car. And yet there they lie, smashed flat on the road of history: and they’ve done it to themselves. Case in point: the recently-concluded 13th Voices of Sophia chin-wag, in which an unspecified number of self-described “passionate feminist/womanist/mujerista justice-lovers”—or, more simply, idiots—got together to pat themselves on the back for their success so far in destroying the churches that ordained them. (I notice some of you scratching your heads over the term “mu…

July 12, 2012 Outgoing SBC Head Calls on Southern Baptists to Repent of Theological Idolatry [Excerpts] In his last message as SBC president, Bryant Wright denounced the pride that was creeping in as Southern Baptists debate the doctrine of salvation and election. "If we pride ourselves more on being a traditional Southern Baptist or more on being a Calvinist or a Reformed theologian than we are thankful that we are Christ-centered and biblically-based, then it is time to repent of theological idolatry." His remarks come weeks after the release of a statement by a group of Southern Bap…

I keep hearing from people, "that was a great book, but it's out of print now." If baffles me that this happens with modern day technology. What is a great book that you know of that is now out of print?

Chick-fil-A president slams gay marriage The president of Chick-fil-A, the fast food chain with more than 1,600 restaurants and $4 billion in revenue, has come out against same-sex marriage. "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,'" Dan Cathy, the company's president and chief operating officer, said in a recent radio interview. "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about." In an interview with the Baptist Press published this week, Cathy doubled down on…

I've known for some time that the Tibetans spin "prayer wheels" as a ritual in their Buddhist religion so, that phrase in the song "Just a Little Talk With Jesus" has bugged me for years. When we sang it in church again last night, I finally remembered to look it up and show my Wife when we got home. Where did the author get the "prayer wheel turning" thing? I can honestly say that I have felt the sweet and powerful presence of the Holy Ghost well up in my inner being a few times, but I never got a spinning nor even the slightest turning sensation of any kind; what about y'all?

Does anyone know where to find some fairly reliable and true accounts of the Apostle Thomas after Christ went to heaven? Preferably something online. I'm especially interested in his work in India. So far, I keep coming up with stuff that seems obviously not accurate and stuff tainted by the RCC.

Recently purchased this book. Has anyone read it? My older brother recommended Richard Dawkins book to me 'The GOD delusion'. (I think he became an atheist even if he goes to church with his wife and kids in the middle east). The Da Vinci Code book really messed him up. Its sad coz' he knows the RCC is wrong but he ended up having no faith at all. Pls. also pray from my brother that GOD will show him the truth just like what GOD did to me. Thanks!

Politicians, Obamacare, Same-sex marriage, Voting, Abortion, The Constitution, etc, etc...all of it burns or melts. So, all I need to do is rest on my salvation and wait for the Lord to return. I've reconsidered...it's all going to burn and melt anyway so why waste time with it. Luke 19:11-27, after all, is only dealing with proselytizing not a citizen's responsibility, right? Pro. 24:33 & Pro. 6:10.

I'll Try To Give Answers To Supposed Bible "contradictions" And Hard To Understand Passages. 1 2

Please tell me of your issues where you have found something that seems like it is a contradiction in the Bible or a passage that gives you a problem. I can try to answer it. I may already know the answer. For years, I have researched these and I like to study Biblical archaeology and the Israeli ancient culture, which often gives answers to these issues. There are NO errors in the King James Version. It is always reader error or ignorance of the issue(s) involved. When I couldn't find an answer, I tried to put it on the "back burner" and wait, in faith, for an answer. Please note that if others have asked me questions and several are piling up, to wait until I ha…
