"Rock of Ages" missionary, Leroy Demarselles preached at our church recently. His sermon was a moving message entitled "No fishing in the lake of fire". It was a great sermon, but unfortunately there were no unsaved people there, or none that would admit to it. I wish I had his notes, but the title alone says a lot.

I apologize! I evidently have no feelings and I'm surely inciting riots. Sara Palin has been told that she is causing hate in America because she used the term "reload" and used "crosshairs" (targets) on literature denoting "targeted" election areas. We're told that these things are "over the top" and stirring up hate in Amercia. So.. I have learned my lesson. I apologize for the use of a target as an avatar. How mindless and stupid of me. Just wondering. A majority of us read daily so share some nuggets from your devotions or studies. A verse or chapter that you know the Holy Spirit was blessing you with. Sharing is caring. C'mon. One of my recent "nuggets" was the Eucharist post. God revealed that changes He makes to His creation are detectable by man, unlike the Roman Church and the wine to blood. Tell others your blessings from God's Word and they (me) will also receive a blessing.

Since returning home I've noticed two commercials: The commercials show many people making a faith based statement. One "I am not ashamed" Many people individually appear and say this with the last saying... "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ" Two Many people individually appear saying they are not this or that. Toward the end a few people appear and say they "are not religious." The last appears and states, "I'm not religious, I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ." Does anyone here know if Piedmont is King James only? Do you know if they are contemporary worship proponents or hymn singers? Do you know of any doctrinal issues about which I should be advised as I seek a school for a student who has had a Christian education since Kindergarten, has been raised in an IFB church that is conservative and wants to stay that way? I'm placing this here with hopes more members will read this post. On this forum we can post a picture to be our 'profile picture.' I have done so and I notice it shows up in the top right hand of every page while I'm on OB. Plus when anyone goes to my profile they can see this picture. I hope everyone will take advantage of this added feature, so that we all can have a face to put to the people we get to know on OB and post back and fort to nearly every day of the week. I have been thinking about the healthcare reform and wonder what would happen if people decide they can't follow the law. I've been thinking about this all day. One of Holster's replies (about the skunk) gave me the idea for a thread title. On my way to church I pass the remains of a church which burned to the ground a long while back. No evidence remains of a church with the exception of some cut foundation sandstone steps and one other item I'll mention further on. Behind where the church stood is a graveyard and many of the granite grave markers are visible as you drive by. The other item remaining, giving away there was once a structure, is the mailbox. New London School Explosion 73 years ago today On that day in 1937 293 students plus teachers and other school workers died. It seems thanks to them we have that bad smell in natural gas so it there is a leak we will hopeful know it before there's an explosion. Has anyone seen the Census ads? The Brainwashing is heavy! I'm para-phrasing but it says "So return you census form. How will we know how many hospitals to build? We can't continue until you mail it in! Get that.. they are teaching that Hospitals come from the Feds and that no new Hospitals can be built unless YOU turn in your census form. This is outright propaganda! No wonder our kids have the wrong veiw of everything. (and mommy and daddy doesn't teach them!)

Many years ago I came across a sermon an IB preacher named Gary Dice when he visited Australia, and from memory he was preaching on this passage, or at least referencing it. He sang a slightly silly song about this section of Romans 7, but I have never been able to find any reference to it anywhere else. I would appreciate it if anyone has heard of it and could give me a reference or link to it, or best case, the sheet music. I know there are many songs that come up when you do a google search, but none of them have been the one I am looking for. It has the words almost direct from the KJV, not just something loosely based on that text. Thanks folks. -

I also noticed he seems quieter, perhaps more humble this time. But even last time I had come to view his particular tendency to boast as just having an immensely positive attitude. He's also careful to thank others and to offer credit where credit is due, while having no compunctions about calling out anyone who deserves none. -

Just to clarify on the repenting God did when Israel turned from their evil ways. The thing here is that their turning from evil ways here is called... works. So since salvation isnt by works ..and turning from evils ways IS works.. hence the issue with repent meaning 'turn from sin'. So there is what I was meaning. -

Thankfully the pastors I know NEVER STOPPED preaching the gospel. Remember, TGL, they're to preach the whole counsel of God, not just salvation messages. And just to be clear, preaching messages that promote conservative, Biblical values is imperative. Maybe one should let the Holy Spirit guide in what these pastors preach, eh?
