I'm late on my report, but Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Anita, Iowa, held its first missions conference this past week. We learned about the Faith Promise Missions Giving program from Robert Lewis, director of Global Independent Baptist Missions out of Lewisville, Texas. We also had missionaries going to Madagascar and Mexico. Our small congregation (3 families) has pledged $120 a month toward missions! And we had one soul saved during the opening service of the conference! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "Ain't God good!!!" Mitch

Praise God the CT scans I posted about in the Prayer Requests area went well. In fact the whole thing went off without a hitch. That is quite wonderful to me considering as how the last set they had to poke me 9 times to get the IV started! I did have some problems with the pre-medication regimen I have to take but one again God got me through it. Unfortunately I won't get the reading on the results of the scans until Tuesday morning. Thank everyone for the prayers. In Christ, George Groce

We just kicked off our first missions conference, and we had one saved during the first service! I can't wait to see what God does for the rest of the conference, which ends Wednesday. He may call the entire congregation to the mission field! :sing: Hallelujah! Mitch

After nearly a year of being the interim pastor and giving the people awhile to pray, they voted my dad in as pastor. A unanimous vote. Well I haven't been on here since then and I think I would tell you all.

Mom got saved!

Hey guess what! My mom got saved tonight! It's one of those situations where I've grown up in a Christian home, and supposedly both my parents were saved, but in reality, only my dad was saved. I've had reasons to doubt my mom's salvation a while, but I feared confronting her about it. Then, yesterday it bothered me so badly to think of her going to Hell while the rest of us go to Heaven, that I finally told God that I want her to be saved, and begged Him to work on her about it. Then tonight I got the opportunity to ask her some questions, and she completely broke down. It's interesting because we were actually headed to soulwinning and so I had her talk to one of the o…

We found ourselves running very low on food and with no check coming in until the end of the week. It looked as if my wife and children would eat what we had left and I would basically eat little or nothing until payday. (This has been a horrible year for us financially; even so, the Lord blesses and provides!) Anyway, I happened to stop by my sisters house tonight and while I was there she started going through her cabinets and refrigerator to toss things out. My sister is VERY picky about her food. She won't eat leftovers. Peanut butter that has only been open for a week or so she thinks is no longer good. If she has something in the freezer for awhile she convinc…

Praise the Lord that we are starting to see results from the booth that our church's addictions program had at the Boone County fair. Three people this week were led to the Lord as a result of contacts we got at the fair, and we have had two other visitors to our program because of it. Also, the director and I went to visit someone who's mother got a brochure at the fair and then passed it along to him. He promised to come to our meeting this Friday! :sing: :sing: :sing: Please pray that we will continue to see results and that the people who were saved will grow in the Lord!

While settling into Sunday School, we were given a request for 2 men to bring another table to the 6yr old class. The class had more children than the one table could hold. This has been an answer to prayer. BobbyW

As many of you know I have been praying for a FT job. Well, I went for an interview Friday and she said that I had the job but only if I wanted it. Let me tell you about the job. It will be in a daycare and I will be working with 5 1yr olds. I will have medical dental and life insurance. Get paid holidays after 90 days and after a year get paid vacations. I will work 4 days a week and have weekends off. The pay is $2.00 less then what I am making now but I will get 2 raises a year. My hubby and I figured it out and with what I am making on my PT job I will break even. I have to go back to school but I am planning on doing that anyway. I am still praying about it(jus…

About a year ago my church nearly shut its doors for good. My Step-dad steped up and took pastor and have been in better financial shap the we have ever been in. I say all that to say that next sunday my church will have its first baptism in that year after we nearly closed. Our former pastor is the one that wanted the church to close because he said that it wouldn't make it financialy and if we didn't close that he was resigning. If the devil would have had his way there would still be a soul on his way to hell because satan would have won the fight to close our church. It also has shown the rest of the people at our church that God is still with us and is still using …

Brayden my 3 year old son is not quite sure yet, he still request a brother. Well take care and Praise GOD for the kids that the doctors said we could not have. Praise GOD, Vickie Wilson

We had a wonderful week at our VBS! I was unable to help because I was working my main job in the morning and had either my second job or class in the evening. However, we had 118 juniors come to at least one of our morning sessions. We had 48 teens come to our evening sessions. We had 49 kids make professions of faith during the week, plus another two from VBS made profesisons this morning. We had six kids baptized during the morning service. There were probably at least 20 parents who attended our morning service and were able to hear the plan of salvation. Finally, the parents of a kid who was saved at last year's VBS came forward and made their public professi…

Things have been a little quiet around Anita. But Sunday night, a church called me to say they heard we needed a new roof on our building, and they wanted to provide the materials and labor for that new roof! They'll probably put it on in late August or early September. Woo-Hoo! God is still working and blessing! Mitch

PTL! I have several praises to share. First I just celebrated my spirital birthday on the 8th. (22 years). Then I want to thank the Lord for what he did last week. We had our Campmeeting last week and 2 young men surrendered to the call to preach. One is a cousin of ours. He preached last night at church. The last praise is the doctor gave me a clean bill of health about my ear. He wants to see me in a month just to make sure its still ok. Thank you Lord .

Hi, all. Just a quick update on our little Angela (the 8mo girl in our orphanage with Down's Syndrome, hypothyroidism, and facing heart surgery in two weeks): 1. Angela saw the endocrine doctor yesterday, and her weight is steadily going up, and her thyroid tests were all in the normal range. There is also the possibility that after her heart surgery things may normalize and she won't need the thyroid medicine any more. The doctor was amazed at how "perky" Angela was--smiling and playing rather than very listless as she had been. 2. A group from Alabama came to Guatemala on Monday--they brought with them 12 crates full of toys, clothes, shoes, etc. for the orphan…
