  1. Looks like climate change is striking again here in West and Central Florida. Are you prepared? As a Christian, how do you look at hurricanes? Do you prepare or do you say, the Lord in control. I don’t have to do anything. Do you watch the news and hope for the best. The Pastor said, do not pray that the hurricane goes up to the north or to the south, we pray that it weakens, I agree. Be Safe

  2. My husband invites folks forward during the invitation if they want to accept Christ. But he doesn't stop there. When we have new folks, he sits with them and talks privately with them about the state of their soul. This is, IMO, much more effective than asking folks to come forward if they want to be saved. Simply because many folks don't want to be singled out. Anyway, it's been almost a year since we had a baptism (there were 2 then), but as Joe said, our church is small. We witness, we invite, we share the Gospel. But if folks don't respond, it is not the fault of the church.

  3. There are so many ministry areas beyond pastor and deacon.... if divorced people want to serve God, they are barely limited by this restriction. I feel like maybe there's some pride involved with those that want to lead despite this disqualification (and if that's the case, they really shouldn't be leading!).

  4. Yeah, remember the days before all this climate change "Gore speak"? Florida NEVER had hurricanes back then. Nothing but cool breezes and calm seas. Keep wearing that tinfoil hat TGL.

  5. I can empathize and sympathize with you. I'm not always able to be in service and watching over the net. I surely miss being there and go as often as the Lord allows me to be healthy enough to be there.

  7. As a man I prepare for the worst and pray for the best. We have the ability to care for ourselves including moderate first aid for about two weeks if our home was destroyed or lost power and we stayed on sight. We had a lot of tornadoes today. They were dropping down all around us and did lots of damage and killed many people even before Milton came ashore on the other coast. I'm on the east coast of Florida! A tornado literally touched down on top of my parent's home today and wiped out their fence. They didn't lose power and my dad didn't wake up from his nap. My mother and sister ran and hid in the bathroom with the dogs though! LOL The home behind my grandson's uncle had 11 souls pass into eternity today. There is climate change, every day, everywhere. It rains over here today and not there. Tomorrow it's hot here and cold over there. It's called weather! LOL Climate change is just another devilish/Marxist ploy to destroy society.

  8. Climate change? Get real. Weather goes in cycles as does the depths of the water along the shorelines. Trying to build a doctrine, ie, climate change, on data that's only been kept for 100 years or less is not feasible... that's why they've gone from "an ice age is coming" to "global warming" to what they're now calling "climate change." Stop drinking the liberal Kool Aid. The Lord IS in control of the weather, and there are things we can do to prepare for inclement and even destructive weather to minimize damage and death. And it's ALWAYS advisable to pray concerning these things.

  9. I live in Connecticut and was working just a couple of miles away when Sandy Hook happened. While there are some things that don't add up, the shooting was real. I drove to the school a few hours after the incident.

  10. SureWord

    The Trump Bible

I bought one. It's a KJV with the Declaration, Constitution and Pledge of Alligience in it. It's nice size and a soft "pleather" cover. I believe I paid around $65 for it that included shipping. Technically, I believe the Bible has more to do with singer Lee Greenwood it just has Trump's name on it. I think the money goes to support his campaign but I'm not 109% sure on that

  11. Yes, when we go out in the world, turn on the television, that stumbling block is everywhere. But one sin does not excuse another. Not to change the subject but, this relates to something that's been disturbing to me for a long time: preachers and pastors saying stupid stuff from the pulpit which is NOT Biblical. To "preach" that a man has an excuse for abusing a woman because of how she dresses is, in one respect, similar in outcome to "preaching" that a woman has an excuse for not submitting to her husband if he will not "lead". It DIVIDES people. Both these teachings are unbiblical and they are WICKED things to say or even imply because they sow discord among/between brethren (in this case men and women). No one has an excuse for their sin, no matter what another person does. . Preachers should preach against it, yes, but keep it Biblical. When they preach against ladies' immodest dress, in the same message they should admonish the men not to look and visa versa. If we strive to keep such matters fair, honest, Biblical and Holy like Peter and Paul did, the Holy Ghost might just show up in the sermon.

  12. I was 10 and taken to a Baptist church by my family. We were there forany months. The pastor was a good man, Pastor Bowman. One Sunday night I felt led to answer the call and walked to the front with others and gave my life to Christ. I was later Baptized in a lake in our hometown.
