Members dadof4 Posted May 24, 2007 Members Posted May 24, 2007 He cried a lot last night during the night which is not like him. This morning, he woke up before I had to leave for work. I went in to get him, and his little body was hot. He cried hard again, and didn't nurse very well. I really hope his is not getting sick - we literally can't afford it right now. Please, pray for him - he is only 8 months old. Thank you in advance for your prayers. Quote

Members dadof4 Posted May 25, 2007 Author Members Posted May 25, 2007 Just to let you know, not much has changed today. He is still running a fever. I ran out to Target to get some more medicine for him - ibuprofen. My wife said that I had to get either Motrin or Advil since there is no generic ibuprofen for infants. When I got to the aisle for kids medicine, would you know that all the Motrin and Advil were sold out! But then, my eyes saw a little lonley box on the shelf - Target's generic brand of infant ibuprofen. And it cost $1 less then the name brands. I said a little thank you prayer right there in the aisle. Quote
Members mainstays Posted May 25, 2007 Members Posted May 25, 2007 Praying for your little one .... and for you and mom. My 4 yr old is battling a fever right now too, he averages between 102 and 104 degrees. My 3 yr old went through it last week with the same high temps, doc just told us to wait it out and finally after 4 1/2 days it broke.. It's hard when the little ones are sick. Quote
Members Anon Posted May 25, 2007 Members Posted May 25, 2007 At least call a dr, calling is free... but an 8 mos old running a fever for several days usually isn't great.... if he isn't sleeping at night could be an ear infection. Quote
Members Psalms18_28 Posted May 25, 2007 Members Posted May 25, 2007 praying he will get well soon again. Quote
Members dadof4 Posted May 25, 2007 Author Members Posted May 25, 2007 He only woke up once last night, but still had his fever. We gave him the ibuprofen I bought, and then he nursed and wen back to sleep for the night. This morning, he was still feverish. We are supposed to go visit my grandparents in Long Prairie tomorrow - I hope he is feeling better so we can go. Quote
Members dadof4 Posted May 30, 2007 Author Members Posted May 30, 2007 We were able to make the trip to my Grandparent's house. Jonathan's fever is gone - he still has the runny nose and cough. We had a birthday party for my oldest son tonight, and Jonathan's cousin had Jonathan on his lap, but was not holding him tightly. Well, Jonathan jumped in his cousin's lap and fell on the groud face first. We were outside, and thankfull, it had just rained a little, so the ground was not too hard. Jonathan screamed for a little bit, but I was able to get him calmed down. It appears to have just scared him more than hurt him. Jonathan's cousin felt so badly. Quote
Administrators Pastor Matt Posted May 30, 2007 Administrators Posted May 30, 2007 Poor kid... I hate it when they are sick/hurt at that age. Praying that everything turns out OK for him and you. Quote
