I was recently down and a bit discouraged because I couldn't see the path where God was leading me. So I decided to not be discouraged because that was wasting my time that I could have been reading my bible and focusing on God, instead of crying and being upset. I am glad God answered me and my prayers after a lot of weeping and praying and being in the scriptures. I mean think about it how many times does God answer prayer? If some of you could share some times it would be great so we can all rejoice together as brothers and sisters in Christ. I think the replies should be very interesting and great to hear. Isn't it amazing how God has the ability to answer prayer?

The good Lord has answered more prayers than I can remember so I'll just mention one to begin with.

He has blessed us and kept us safe when wicked weather was all about us. He has been our constant Shield and Protector.

I have seen countless prayers answered. In the past some old saints were praying for my salvation and 5 years ago that prayer was answered. Hallelujah :clap::clap:

Joh 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Believe in what you ask. Amen

Some of my friends have told me to be careful about what I pray for. Trials and sufferings are often part of the package of answered prayers, but I can say with confidence that I would never take back all the sorrow and hardships I have experienced as a result of answered prayers. God searches our hearts and can understand our pain better than we can and we should have confidence that He will never leave us or forsake us and that these hardships we experience only helps us to grow if we trust in Him.

Love,
Madeline

I think your friends are right we should watch what we pray for. The bad times are when we should be leaning on God not just in the good times. I have seen many people just believing in God when things are going well, but when it get down to it and something is hard they turn there back on God. It is those kind of people that we should question if they really were saved. The way I look at it is that if you endure the hard times then more good times will come. (Prepare for the rain and the showers of blessings will come) Blessing can be both bad and good. Trust God always no matter how life is.

I don't worry what I pray for.

I worry about my wanter though.

See, I don't pray for anything, unless I'm ready to say honestly to God "if that's in your will." Doesn't matter if it's for me, or other people, I won't even ask him to bless a missionary unless I reach the point I can ask Him to do so only if it's His want to do so.

I'm not saying that to be high an mighty, but maybe this is something that can help people's prayer life?

You see, I worry about my wanter. What I want. I never want to be clouded by it. No matter how bad I want something, or think I need something, or think that's what God would want me or others to have, I won't pray for it really until I come to God knowing I'm an idiot and may not be right.

This also protects me that if God doesn't move on something, I have full joy in knowing it's for the best.

It's never stopped me for praying for others though. I figure if someone asks me to pray about something, I do it. It's up to them to have the walk with God to know if that's what should be pray'd for, and I still ask God to only do it if it's in His will.

The hardest thing I find about prayer, is the first 10 seconds when knowing what and who I am, I dare come to such a Holy God. Then God smirks at me in that way He does where you know He loves you and it's funny you have hang ups.

I've had some struggles with how quickly God has moved on some of my prayers... it happened so fast and powerful and perfect that it scared me.

I put nothing past God. The amount of chips that fall into place, a chain going back years with hundreds of people and odd events, just to answer a prayer said yesterday, it's so mind boggling it gives great testimoney as to how impossible it is to get a full understanding on Him.

I'm just weak sometimes with the thought of how great it is He is in my life.

We have just been through a seies of lessons at prayer meeting which have changed the way that we pray as a church. It has been really good. We now all pray by ourselves and make sure that we are all personally right with the Lord. Then individually we pray about those things that are really burdening our hearts, and then after this we join together with two or three others and pray with them about other areas and concerns that need we need to beseech the Lord for.
Our main verse has been James 5 vs 16.
It has been a tremendous blessing and we are beginning to see the Lord move.
Our prayer meeting has truly become a prayer meeting.

That is AWESOME.

confession is the first thing I take care of in prayer.

In my church, there is a ministry where 2 church folk pray during service (guess the name)
I once stepped into the room and my prayer partner for the service was there.
I felt kinda weird, but I told him I need a couple seconds to confess. I went off into a corner and brought myself to God.
We then had a very powerful meeting with God.

I get tapes on prayer from other churches when the preacher prays about them. I take commune with God the #1 priority in a christian life because who cares what anyone else thinks next to God?

What a fantastic ministry that is! I hope my husband reads these posts. We are a small church so it is not really practical, but definately something for the future. The Lord bless you with much fruit.
