Well' date=' I joined it - looked for one old friend (my best friend when I was in grades 11-12), and found him. The last time I saw or heard from him was about 10-11 years ago, and he was quite confused spiritually (and angry at the confusion), so we lost touch. I am hoping he has sorted things out by now or that I am in a better place to help him now. I emailed him yesterday, but he has not replied yet.[/quote']

That's cool that you found him! :thumb

Back in 2006 I got back in contact with a girl from Oregon that I hadn't talked to in a few years through the internet, and then last year I found a girl on Myspace that I knew like 10 years ago (her family moved across the country and her dad's now a pastor so we lost contact for a while).

Oh, and last year on Facebook I met a girl who's the sister of a guy that came to our church from a GSBC tour group (I recognized her last name), and it turns out that her boyfriend has worked with the boyfriend of my friend (the one that's gonna be my maid of honor at the wedding). It's a small world. :lol

I have found 4 people from my past on the net.

An airman I went thru air force basic training with in early 66. Found him 2 years ago

A girl I dated from Jan 67 to May 67 from new Jersey going to college at Memphis, found her last year. She was a Catholic, very sweet young girl, since that time she was married to an abusive husband and now she has now denounced God and is a lesbian.

And 2 airman I worked with as a jet engine mechanic in 68 & 69 found both of them last year.

The hunt for people on the net from our past can be enjoyable.

Facebook is one place I always look.

That's sad about the catholic girl. :sad

I found another girl on Myspace that I used to know. She actually graduated from the same school I went to, a couple years before I did. After she graduated she went to Bible college for a year and while she was gone, her family back home fell apart and she stayed strong for a little while but soon dropped out and went to a secular college. Now she's involved with some friends who aren't that great, she has a lot of heavy rock music on her profile, and she's married to some guy she met after college. I just hope she gets right with the Lord eventually.

Yes sad and heart breaking, she was also in a car wreck that left her blind.

But its always neat to find people from your past and find out what's going on with them, but many times what you find out can be very disappointing. And the internet has become a very good way to find friends.

I might add one of the airmen I worked with in the air force has served 2 sentences in Federal prison, run a strip club.

But on the bright side the one I went thru basic training in early 66 with had retired from the air force and he and his wife were living in Washington and his married children were all living close by and he spoke of spending with grandchildren.

I think it's good to know where people from your past are at now, just because you can watch how choices they made affect their lives and you can learn a lot from that. :smile
