Members Danny Carlton Posted January 13, 2008 Members Posted January 13, 2008 Our serve, which is part of how we earn our living, was hacked a few days ago. The destruction was so thorough we'll have to close it completely down. I'm now trying to transfer the accounts to a new server form backups as well as what little recent data is available on the server. Meanwhil I have three freelance clients with long todo lists expecting me to jumo on their work bright and early Monday morning. Needless to say I'm extremely stressed. I had to miss church this morning so I can work on restoring the hosting accounts, since the uploads fail mysteriously, needing to be restarted. To make matters worse our router went bonkers and had to be setup again from scratch, requiring the computers accessing it wirelessly to also have to reset their connections. What makes it worse is that people seem to think a server getting hacked is a trivial thing, but it would be the equivelent to someone breaking into your shop, spray painting all the furniture and destroying most of the equipment, as well as stuff being worked on. Members Danny Carlton Posted January 17, 2008 Author Members Posted January 17, 2008 Hurray! The sites I was able to transfer are now active on the new server. The DNS problems have been smoothed out, and none of the paying clients left. Quote
Administrators Pastor Matt Posted January 17, 2008 Administrators Posted January 17, 2008 That is great news that it is back up. Quote
