Ginny, my youngest, who has Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, is sick this morning. She was throwing up, and I gave her the usual, extra dose, but she threw that up. When I went to get the anit-emitic we use in such a case, I discovered it was 2 years out of date (it's been that long since either of the kids with CAH were that sick.) I called the doctor and he said don't use the medicine that's out of date, but he'd call in a presciption for some more plus another kind of anti-emitic as well. But my wife's at work (substitute teaching) and it'd take at least 45 minutes for her to coem home (plus losing the money form working). So the doctor approved giving her a half-doze of the emergency shot. Giny wasn't excited about that, but so far she's stopped throwing up. If the shot doesn't stop the vomiting, we'll need to take her to the ER. Of course that still would mean a 45 minute wait for my wife to come home with the car, the more time while Linda took Ginny to the ER.

Pray that Ginny will recover without having to go to the ER.

I had to look up what that condition is online, and it sounds really scary. I hope you make it without having to go to the ER.

She's continuing to throw up. It's extremely rare that the shots won't stop the vomiting, but then I remembered a warning the doctor gave once about letting the medicine get too cold. Durign the ice storm last month, we lost electricity and heat, and the house got around 50 degrees. That may have neutralized the medicine, making it useless. Linda's rushing home to take Ginny to the ER. The doctor also called in a prescription for new shots.

If you looked CAH up, you may have gone to one of the sites that have bad info. The best sites are http://caresfoundation.org and http://congenitaladrenalhyperplasia.org (that's one I run).

Just got a call. They're on their way home from the ER. Ginny is feeling much better. It's always a big scare when this happens, because we don't know if it's easily remedied, like todya, or something that'll get much worse.

Once, both Ginny and Jonathan got sick the same night, about two hours apart. Linda took the first one in, then when the second one got sick, my dad had to come over to take that one in while I stayed with the other two kids at home. But we still remember the two times the doctor told we came very close to losing Jonathan, and that keeps us very concerned.

Oh, and thanks for the prayers.
