Sure. I think the implication of that verse is that we can expect the prophecies of the OT to be fulfilled' date=' since [i']they came from God, not from men's opinions.

All scripture came from God and we should expect the fulfillment and binding nature of each and every inspired word of God as much as we expect that from the prophecies this particular verse mentions.

That is what I'm talking about. Implications of divine inspiration exist so much so that even if that verse, of itself, doesn't have any bearing on how we interpret scripture, the implications of what it is teaching are far-reaching and have bearing on all of God's word.

When it comes right down to it, there is no interpretation of any prophecy or any other inspired word other than what God told us in the Bible, so both the beginning and the end (the reception and fulfillment) of prophecy remain fully in the hand of God. Man has no business inventing nor twisting the meaning of prophecy or any other inspired words. I believe that statement can be supported by 2 Peter 1:20.

Still, 2 Peter 1:20 cannot be used to justify the existence or validity of any form of private interpretation. :thumb
