There is a lot of speculation about all of this but in the end we really won't know until the ship comes. First the Dems have to actually choose their nominee (with several other choices to make before that which could effect the outcome) and then the nominee has to choose a VP.

Dick Morris can sometimes give decent analysis but he's got it out for the Clintons and I've noticed throughout this race he has tried to appear to be objective but he has always leaned against the Clintons. That's not to say he's wrong now, but he is biased against the Clintons.

Hillary picked up a Superdelegate too. The thing is, these Superdelegates can all change their minds when it comes time to actually vote; they are not bound by their pledges.

Edwards is a political coward. His endorsement shortly after he dropped out of the race may have made a small impact. Now that the voting process is virtually over, his endorsement means nothing but show.

The Dems have themselves to blame for this whole mess. Their primary rules are poorly constructed based upon the entire hope of being able to have their nominee decided quickly by the first few states voting; thus making the votes of all the other states unimportant. This year that system failed to work for them and gave them two candidates with close delegate counts and with their system set as it is they have remained close throughout with no real chance for either to really widen the gap.

As well, the Dems denying Michigan and Florida voters any voice at all in the primaries was a huge mistake they are still paying for and still trying to resolve.

In any event, the Dems have sure made the primaries more interesting this year.

The fact that McCain is of a liberal bent may work in his favor. Some Dem voters who won't vote for the Dem nominee if their candidate doesn't win will vote for McCain since he's not that different from the Dems anyway. Good for McCain, bad for conservatives, Christians the Republican Party and America.

I think they will give Hillary the nomination at the DNC.

Just the thought makes me queasy. I work with an uber-feminist Democrat and even SHE doesn't want Hillary for Prez. Hillary's people called her a few weeks ago to remind her to vote in the primaries and were left speechless when she told them she (as I said a 40-ish I-am-woman-hear-me-roar Democrat) was not planning to vote for Hillary.

I'd love to see Obama and John Edwards. Look how much JE helped Kerry when he was running. :cool
