It's really difficult to know. As the old saying goes, politics makes strange bedfellows.

Depending on how things play out there could be a great deal of pressure for him to offer her the VP spot and for her to accept.

Now, we all know that Hillary will likely do whatever she thinks is best for her. If Hillary believes this might be her best shot at becoming president then she will go for it. If she believes Obama won't win then she'll sit it out and try again in 2012 on her own.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Also, what about the slight chance Hillary were to win the nomination. Would Obama take the VP?

If neither of them accept the VP, who would they choose for their VP?

Who will McCain choose?

At least there is something to look forward to for political entertainment. :Green

At this time its virtually impossible for Hillary to win, unless her opponent dropped dead, there just are not enough vote or delegates left to put her in the winners circle.

I figure much will depend on how much she beats up on him between now and June.

But that said, as much as she has already beat up on him, how could he trust her.

I would and could not trust anyone if they had talked about me like she has him.

A president needs a vice president they can trust.

The last few days it seems Hillary is using race as an issue, that is 100% wrong and maybe her downfall. She lust after that office so much she has no shame, my humble opinion.

I agree, it would be a nightmare team, but the article called it a dream team, you know the democrats sure look at stuff much different than republicans and or even conservative Christians.

I don't feel he will either, she has cut him down way to much for him to trust her.

If I was running for an office, and someone cut me down as she has him, i would not feel that I could trust them, and would always fear they would be trying to stab me in the back.

There may be pressure put on him by Hillary backers. But I feel such pressure will not be effective against him with him having the nomination, and that he will chose who he thinks he can completely trust and will help him win the election.

There will be pressure from Hillary's large number of backers, including many influencial backers, as well as among many in the Dem leadership, for Obama to offer the VP to Hillary.

They (Dems) believe this would be a dream ticket because both the Obama and the Hillary campaigns have turned out record numbers of voters this primary season (although the media typically only mentions Obama's big turnouts, but the fact is Hillarys are huge as well). Also, they believe with both of these popular candidates on the same ticket all of those large numbers of voters would give them more than enough votes to carry the election.

As well, they believe having the first black for president and first woman for VP on the ticket would gain a large turnout among independents and airheads who just want to be able to say they voted for the first black president and woman VP.

Old man Bush had attacked Reagan hard, and Reagan didn't really care for him, but pressure from the Republican leadership caused Reagan to select Bush for his VP.

American history is filled with examples of presidents having VPs who they didn't like and who had been their harshest opponents.

In reality, the VP positions amounts to very little. If a president doesn't want the VP involved in very much that's the way it will be. The VP positions is to handle breaking ties in the Senate and taking over the presidency if the president dies or becomes incapacitated. Other than that, they are typically relegated to dealing with minor things the president doesn't want to attend to. Unless, of course, the Pres likes the VP and gives them more duties.

Yes, there have been matchups throughout American history of presidents and VPs that really didn't like each other that much - to the point of mutual hatred, but this primary season is unique. Face it, it's divided by race and by gender, and to a lesser extent, by socio-economics as well. They're both in it to win, and Hillary in particular has too big an ego to ever settle for being some nOOb's second banana. It also doesn't help that both come from a blue state anyways.

I think they will give Hillary the nomination at the DNC.

There are actually many who would like to, especially with some of the stuff that's come up about Obama and the fears the Republicans will hammer that home and find more to bring up. However, there is a great fear in the Dem Party that if Obama isn't given the nomination there will be black riots across America, which the Dems will be blamed for.

That would mean most blacks would not vote Dem in 2008, it would open the doors for the likes of Jackson, Sharpton; even Wright and Farrakhan, along with other race baiters, to launch attack after attack against the Dems.

Many Dems, especially in the leadership, would now rather risk running Obama and losing in 2008 than to risk the riots, charges of racism and black hostility and the pandering they would have to do for at least the next four years.

If they do, there will be a riot like has never been seen before.

That's one of the main reasons they are going so soft on Obama and why the Dem leadership is trying to make sure there is no way Hillary can end up with the nomination.

The votes, delegates, in the democrat primaries is putting him there, not the leaders. There is no doubt in my mind he is going to stay in 1st place.

If they overturn the votes, them the riot will begin.

Hilary seems to proclaim, I'm the one who can win the election for president against McCain, even though I'm in 2nd place, you need to put me in 1st place.

As things currently stand, it's impossible for either Obama or Hillary to get enough delegates from the voters to win the nomination. This is why the Superdelagates (who are a part of the Dem leadership for the most part) are being so heavily pressured to go with Obama and to go with him soon.

As it now stands, and seems it will be, both Obama and Hillary will go to the convention without a voter provided victory. This means the Dem leadership appointed Superdelegates and the leadership itself will eventually decide who they will grant the nomination to.

This is a problem for them because Obama has lost much ground among key needed voters and isn't likely to regain it. This makes the chances for him to win the general election much less likely. Meanwhile, Hillary carrys these voters and she has won the key swing states.

It will now come down to how bad they want to win and what deals they think they can work to bring this about. Their favorite deal idea at the moment is to give Obama the nomination and have Hillary take the VP spot.
