I've never heard of Sparknotes. Are they similar to Cliff notes?

yes. and for a high school student who didn't have time to read the selection, they are a life saver. Also, when you DID read the selection, but didn't understand it, they help clarify things.

Very interesting. I never had that tough of classes in high school and wouldn't have put too much effort into them if I did.

Any time we were assigned a reading assignment, we would have a quiz over it. So understanding what you read was good. And I remember the other book, Canterbury Tales. We only read part of it, and we might have had another book, but that's all I remember.

I wasn't diligent in my studies at all when in high school. :sad

I'm not really all that diligent either. I know I should be, but I can't seem to buckle down.

When I was in high school I was just there because I had to be. I paid enough attention to get by and excelled on the rare occasion when something caught my attention and I actually applied myself. Until my senior year school seemed like a waste. I figured after I graduated I'd either go into construction like my dad or work in the factory where my mom worked. However, during my senior year there was a recession and both areas of work, along with most others around here, were severely hit. It wasn't until some years late when I went to university that I actually applied myself (to an extent) and found enjoyment in going to school and learning.

School may seem like a waste of time for me, but I know it is a necessary waste. I COULD have been out of school at midterm, but I'm only 17 still, so I can't get a nice job for awhile. :roll

I remember 17. I thought I knew it all and was ready for anything. Not even close! :loco

I'm glad you don't have that problem.

If I knew it all, then what fun would life be? The only thing that would keep perfection from being boring would be being close to God. The world needs a little mystery.

I was still lost when I was 17. :sad

Well, when I turned 17 I was as well. Praise God that less than 2 months after turning 17, I was saved.

I was saved just a couple weeks after I turned 18. :smile

More school today. I have an essay due Tuesday for English over Pride and Prejudice.
