This is long locked, and this person, actually a woman, apparently, not that it matters, but the picture seems deceptive, is no longer here, yet this claim was never answered and it is bugging me, so I have to say something:

She says that, in this context given, Israel ABANDONED Canaan. Doe she not understand the OT well enough to know that this was of God, that He told Abraham that they would go here and remain for 400 years, until He brought them out as a mighty people, to bring them to the land of Canaan as their possession? Yes, the truth will set you free: GOD took them, for their protection, out of Canaan, as it was not yet their possession, and into Egypt-that's the whole reason Joseph was sold to slavery, then falsely accused, only to be raised to the second in all the land of Egypt, so that his family might come in safely and dwell there until the iniquity of the Amorites was full, and the land then passed to the children of Israel.
