We have a church really near our church...one pastor was there until retirement and built it up to a good size. The pastor that took over seems to be egotistical and want to build a large church, full of people with decent means, etc.

Anyway there have been several to leave that church, some over the treatment of the older pastor, but others for ethical or misc reasons. A few have come here.

So the other day one of their "ex" members was on a visitation route on our actual road (a mile or two away, but still our road the church is on) and this other church happened to be at the same place on visitation. Allegedly, their brand new, fresh out of college, assistant pastor told one of our visiting young adults (actually Happy you may know her, she will be a senior this year at FH) that we didn't need to be visiting there where they were! And it was our same road our church is located on!!!!

My husband tried emailing the pastor about it and it just backfired on him, the pastor said some pretty snide (in a spiritual way) things and so my husband had to give up.

This along with some financial problems in the church...we've hit a few speed bumps. This all a year after we got our new youth/assistant pastor. We are really stepping up trying to reach the community, and we can tell the devil doesn't like it.

It's too bad that pastor doesn't realize that the gospel can be presented by others as well...of course, it doesn't appear that he's too interested in getting the gospel out!! So sorry you are going through that, but I'm glad your church is there for the folks who do and will need to find a new church home!

Who is the young lady (PM me?)?
