But in a month no crawlers have even showed up at the site...keywords don't help unless they actually find the site, will it?

Oh...and I checked, and in our intro posts we have plenty about "chronic urticaria" in there.... plus the meta tags have lots of keywords as well. The problem is we have had no bots to visit.

Yes, but the more activity there is, the more it will draw the crawlers. Really when your talking about the size of the internet, the number of pages these crawlers go thru, a month is a shot period of time.

I recall searching for my group and it was about 6 months or longer before it started showing up in search results.

That is not true at all. Do a little study on SEO and you will understand more about how sites get crawled.

:puzzled: Where in the world did that comment come from?
This is an honest question, do you know anything about SEO? The link tells you what SEO is and what it stands for.

I guess if you know anything about SEO, can you show me one place where the Wikipedia article is wrong? I'll be waiting. :lol

Thanks for the tips! I have my cake site through Matt' date=' don't know that I'd want to pay for a forum right now though...[/quote']
There are lots of free forum scripts out there. If your site has php and mysql, it'll run a forum.

I'm going to see if I can get this free forum to attract some hits...and in another month or two maybe if its not working I'll try something else. I put the URL in every siggie in every board I am on (I guess only 4 or 5) and then on my blog.

Ok here is a question...I have webspace with Anchor (Souzas) for my cake site, and also free webspace with Comcast. Is there any way to just purchase a domain and then have a forum put on one or the other spaces? Maybe preferably the Comcast space?

I don't mind putting down $25 or something to get a forum started but I can't think about putting down any more than that, my husband wouldn't want me paying money for a forum that isn't really necessary.

My hosting service ($5/month) comes with Fantastico. Fantastico is a feature that will install for you any of close to 50 popular script, among them phpBB and SMF (message board scripts). It will also install Wordpress (blog), Joomla, Mambo (CMS packages), osCommerce (eCommerce), Coppermine, Gallery (photogallery scripts), Moodle (educational), phpAdsNew (ad server) and 39 others. But $5 a month is more than $25.

FYI, if the designer used nofollow on the HTML tags on the website you posted your links it will do you no good. Bots will not follow through on the the nofollow tags.
I did not use the nofollow tags on this board. :thumb

Here is a link to explain what the nofollow is.

We offer Fantastico free also, but I recommend not to use it. It not always works properly, and it is not always updated fast enough with the newest versions of the software.

It would work well enough for phpBB wouldn't it? I've found it's a good way to get a quick intro to the packages, without having to go through the headache of installing and uninstalling it by hand. My original phpAdsNew I've upgraded several times (through the name change to OpenAds and the second name change to OpenX) and use it for most of my ad serving.

Why for parents? I'm sure there are adults with the same problem as well.

My Aunt gets hives ALL the time and so does my sister.
oh it might help to start a support group in facebook or something.
