When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)  Matt 24:15

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,)  Mark 13:14

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.  Dan 12:11

 

When the Antichrist proclaims himself to be God in the Temple, those that flee to safety will await the return of the true Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, for 3 1/2 years (1290 days).

From Revelation, we know the significance of the "1290" days.  We know that Antichrist will both "stand" and "sit" in the Holy Place (kodesh-kodesh) and we also know that there will be an "image" of the beast (false Christ).  Antiochus Epiphanes set up an image of Zeus/Jupiter in the holy-of-holies centuries before Jesus began his ministry.
