Directly from Pastor Knox this afternoon:

 

Had a long visit with the cardiologist today to go over findings of 36 blood tests, echo tests, EKGs, nuclear stress test, and stress test.

Let me say that I have a great deal of confidence in this doctor.  He is very highly recommended by all the medical personnel in our church and he has cared for my mother for many years.

 

The short of it – my heart, veins and arteries are all in excellent shape.

            Blood pressure good.

            Cholesterol fine.

            No blockages.  No defects.

            He has a graph he makes based on all tests given.  It grades out with a heart-health rating from 1-10; ten being the best.  My score was a 12.8.

 

All indications are that my condition is a result of

1.     Too many years of stress and dealing with prOBlems

2.     Very poor sleep patterns

3.     Lack of adequate exercise and outdoor activity are manifesting themselves in this way.

 

He believes my physical heart is fine but my emotional heart is worn out.

 

So this is good news.  Doubtful I can learn to relax and sleep properly.  Will have to get with a more complete exercise program.  We’ll see where it goes from there.

Praise God!

 

Our pastor, who has spoken of his near total lack of interest in exercise for years finally was convinced to start exercising last year and it's made a big difference in his life. Not only has the exercise improved his health, it's helped with stress and relaxation. The biggest benefit is it's even helped draw him closer to the Lord as he spends much of his exercise time in prayer and singing along to hymns he plays while exercising. He's related some of the insights he's received from the Lord while exercising and it's amazing.

That is the same as was sent to me also.

 

a brisk walking machine is good to use if you can't get out and walk because of pollution or weather.  20-25minutes brisk walks and a good stretching regime each day is all one needs.
