Today I cut a limb off of a pine tree in our back yard. After getting down from the ladder I saw a spider running off that had been on this limb, she had that bag they carry their babies in and she was really making tracks. With the trouble John is going thru, especially with the Social Services I suppose this came to my mind.

Poor mother, she is probably thinking, "what is this world coming to, a mother cannot raise her children in peace any more, these humans are always coming along and interfering, why can't they just leave me alone and let me raised my children properly?" :uuhm:

Another thought...people really do live in fear nowadays. That's why kids are so undisciplined. Parents are honestly afraid of being turned in.

Just today at the store there was a little girl and she was holding her rear, and her mom said, "Is your bum okay now?" I glanced at her, not really thinking anything, just looking, and the mom said quickly, "She fell on my cell phone." and went out of her way to make sure the child was ok although the child was obviously fine!

Its so sad that we as parents have to fear so much that we sacrifice our children for the fear.

Yes, I know its true. many parent fear correcting their children.

But that is the way its going to be in this fallen world.

That said, there has been many children who has been abused in America, in past years there were many children who were badly abused who received no help at all from anyone. The thing is with our government there are people who are put in charge who have no sense at all, plus the authority they're given goes to their head and they abuse this authority.

And if it had not been for those who abused children in the past we would not have a problem with over zealous Social Workers now days

Can you imagine what it would be like to be a child and be in a home were your abused and have been told what bad things would happen to you if you spoke one word about it to anyone? Please don't me naive, for there are real children in abusive situations here in America, sometimes even by their very own parents. These children deserve to be helped.

And its very sad that good parents get caught in the system by children who lie.

I might add last year I met a woman who was in the orphan home when I was in, she and her brothers are in this picture with me taken in late October 1948. She has scars on both her back and legs from beatings she received in that orphan home and she tells me her brothers scars are much worse than those on her back and her legs. She said when the superintendent who beat all of them was finally replace it seemed as if they had died and gone to heaven, but they had him for over 5 years, during that time everyone got beatings, not whippings.

It was neat the way how I met this woman, her daughter happened to come up on this picture on my image shack page. She was searching for anything to do with the orphanage that her mother was in. Low and behold she found my picture. She gave a copy of it to her mother on her birthday last year. Like me this is the only picture she has of herself in her early years.

:goodpost: Pastor Jerry. I have some "odd" thoughts like this myself. I have beed told that it is those little things that really matter in life. :smile

Thanks for sharing this. I truly get this. :amen:

Examining things in nature is Biblical. Think about all the things in nature that Jesus used to teach a lesson...as well as Solomon.

Walter L. Wilson's books are great nature-studies (for adults and children alike) for people who like to learn things about nature and apply them to the spiritual life.

I am glad that I have always loved nature. I didn't know this. Thanks joyful. :thumb

20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

1 Peter 2:20 (KJV)

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1 Peter 3:17-18 (KJV)

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2 Tim 3:12 (KJV)

10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1 Tim 4:10 (KJV)

5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

2 Thess 1:5 (KJV)

There is no doubt, if we stand for Christ in this world persecution will come our way, one way will be thru the hands of overzealous Social Workers, and as times goes on the suffering those who stand for Christ will grow worse.

But that said there has not been much bad suffering for Christians in America, we have had it very good, but I see that period of time coming to an end. But there will probably be many who will not continue to stand for Christ for they will refuse to suffer even for the sake of our Savior. When we do suffer for doing right, rightly the one thing we can do is keep our faith in God thru Christ knowing that He to suffered greatly for our sake.

I might add, in telling my thoughts when I saw that spider I was not mocking nor making light of Johns situations, I know the reason I had that though was because the trouble John & wife are going thru was so heavy on my mind.

:amen: :goodpost: Pastor Jerry. Oh...I know that it was weighing heavy on your heart. I think that Joyfulpraise gave a wonderful post about nature. That seems to say a lot to me. My dad was a nature person...we were always out and about doing things like traveling and camping. It taught me so much about values and priorities in life. I am so glad that I had this firm foundation as a child from my dad. In fact...after he passed on in 1993 the family grew apart. It wasn't until my oldest brother's tragedy in February that the Lord Jesus Christ pieced us back together again. :amen: Although, each of the 4 kids have always had a connection with my mom. :smile My pastor likes to say that in a Christian home the mom kind of acts like to Holy Spirit, in a sense. You know, "When mamma aint happy...the whole family isn't happy." LOL.

Coming from an ecology background, I know that many of the top naturalists from the 19th century and before were Christians. Quite a few seemed to have been vicars, oddly enough. But in my short lifetime, I've never met a Christian who took any interest in nature over and above dog-walking and taking a very occasional stroll in the countryside.

LOL I spent 2 years of college studying forestry and nature conservation...I love learning about the ins-and-outs of God's creation and how to preserve and conserve it. I believe that all nature points to it's Creator and if we study it we can be greatly blessed by it.

Good for you! It's always great to meet someone for whom appreciation for the natural world doesn't just mean saying, 'Aaaahhh, isn't that pretty,' a couple of times a year. I guess I can no longer claim to have never met a Christian nature-lover can I!

Having grown up in and playing in the woods all his boyhood days, my hubby is an avid nature-lover! We try to teach our children responsibility for the world God has given us as well as show the beauty of it.

Hee-hee; we are majorly :hijack:
