Seriously, Ron Paul??????? A trial for a terrorist who has renounced his citizenship and hates his country?

This is why I'll never vote for this guy. Good grief.

I would not be inclined vote for him either because I disagree with him on to many issues, but I don't think he is "crazy" per se, I think he is principled. There is a difference, and I respect him for at least having principles. The vast majority of politicians have a finger in the wind metaphorically speaking and try to figure out where public opinion is at the moment and get in front of it. Ron Paul doesn't tend to do that, he usually knows and sticks to what he believes regardless of where public opinion is at. On this particular issue I can honestly see both sides. On the one hand this guy was no loss to society, on the other hand it isn't a very good precedent to publicly acknowledge the intentional assassination of American citizens(guilty or not) without due process of law. Like a lot of our governments anti-terrorist policies things like this are not a "practical" problem as currently implemented, but they are an ideological problem and lay all the right groundwork for a authoritarian police state at some future date. Given the fact that they knew about and had been after this guy for some time I don't know why they couldn't have tried him for treason and if convicted stripped him of citizenship. Citizenship should mean something.

I agree. Several besides Ron Paul have raised this issue as well. None of them have any sympathy for the killed terrorist, but they do worry about the precedent set and the publicity of this.

As many have said, if the president can declare anyone to be a terrorist, even American citizens, and that such a declaration automatically strips them of their consitutional safeguards, what is to prevent a future president (or current) from coming up with an excuse to declare anti-abortion folks as terrorists, or fundamentalists, or those who call homosexuality a sin, etc.

I'm not sure if it was on Fox or elsewhere, but Ron Paul did state that if he were president and had all the information the president would have it's possible this terrorists killing might have been the right move, but with what he knows at this time, he can't say that. Paul, and others, have also pointed out that this killing should have been kept quiet, and listed several valid reasons why.

One of the problems with this "war on terror" is that ten years into this the American government has yet to determine the status of terrorists. Are they criminals to be tried as such? Are they to be considered POWs when captured? Are they enemy combatants? What legal status do they fall under? Should they be tried in American civilian courts...American military courts...some international court...locked up without determining just who and what they are...? So far, neither Bush nor Obama has set forth clear policies to deal with this.

If we'd stop just messing around, maybe they'd stop messing around with US.

That's what Bin Laden, and others, said prior to 9-11 but the American government didn't take his calls to remove American troops from Muslim soil or he would strike America seriously.

Are we not a step closer to our government assassinating an American citizen in this country without a trial with what they now are doing overseas? No doubt, maybe our government, & our citizens are well meaning, but what they are actually doing is making the whole world hate this us.

Any time you go around telling someone, or a country what to do, they will start hating you, plus, we Americans can come off pretty smug & too proud, & nothing but braggarts .

Sure...we can take all Americans off their soil if they take all Muslims off ours...just kidding...but really...why did they want us gone? So they'd have more peace and quiet to work on WMD?

According to their religion, that's sacred Muslim ground and infidels defile it.

I also have to say that Ron Paul followers are crazy, in general...not anybody here...but I'm on Herman Cain's Facebook page and the Ron Paul people are always coming around, spamming the page and saying mean things to the Cain people. (I got cussed at by one.) The Cain people never do that back....

There are some who support Ron Paul who are over-zealous, sometimes go to extremes, and seem to have far too much time on their hands, but they are a loud minority, not the majority of Ron Paul supporters.

If they are the minority then why are they the only ones I see around? Just Kidding.

I support Ron Paul because he supports returning the powers back to the states that they had before Washington usurped them(unconstitutionaly). Included in those powers is the right of the states to outlaw abortion.

He also would attempt to end the unconstitutional Federal Reserve System which is totally controlled by the To Big To Fail banks.

He would attempt to end our unconstitutional involvement in wars that only tend to enrich the powers that be, unlike Cain who has said he would not even audit the Fed.

He would end the Patriot act which has only tended to train the American citizens to accept searches, pat downs, and gropings, at airports, football games, malls, and anywhere else they wish wish.

He would attempt to end the bailing out of business' that can't make it in the free enterprise system. Banks with bad management would go broke and others would take their place.

He would end the bribery of our politician by the banks and other big corporations.

I could go on and on but I won't because I have discussed politics with my fellow Fundamental Baptist brothers on many occasions and very seldom changed a mind. I do not think most people that are for some of the neocon Republican candidates have ever watched Ron Paul's speeches. For the most part they get most of their information from the evening news which usually does not even cover Ron Paul's candidacy except for the usual occasional Negative comment. I you want to learn anything near the truth about what goes on in this world, you have got to spend some time and effort looking for it, because you won't find it in the mainstream media.

If we want the Truth of God's word we study the KJV not some other source, but if we want the truth about what is happening in this world, we must look at many many sources.

I pray I didn't offend anyone, it was not my intent.

God bless,
Larry

There will never leave anyone alone. Their mission is to conquer the world and destroy those who do not submit. Muhammadanism is not unlike Communism. They only recognize force, they must be isolated from the free world and bombed into submission from time to time when they step out of line.

Their ultimate goal is the Islamification of the entire world, but their contemporary goals are to target those seen as a direct threat; which most often means those seriously inserting themselves into Islamic lands and affairs. This is why America would cease being their prime target if America didn't have troops in several Muslim countries and wasn't trying to force "democracy" across Muslim lands.
