Folks, here in the 4 corners area (SW Colorado) we have had snow on the ground since Christmas. Finally, for the first time since December.. I can look at my yard with no snow. But, I just checked weather and there is a winter storm warning out for tonight and tomorrow. It seems that it snows some every Saturday and Sunday... And it snows on Wednesdays. I believe it has snowed on at least 80% of Sundays and Wednesdays. I am almost inclined to say that Satan himself is behind this.

Now, I know this is not Alaska.. I know others have much snow too, but has has been weeks and weeks and weeks since we've had a "non-weather related" church service. My sheep are elderly for the most part and they just won't get out when there is snow. Many live miles down dirt and county roads.

Would you please pray for good weather to move in and stay...... Thank You!

It's 7:30 am Sunday morning... it snowed 3 inches overnight and is snowing heavy now. Forcast is for a total of 6 inches at locations over 6000 feet. We are at 6400 feet. (By the way.. we're about a thousand feet higer than Denver.. the "Mile High city." )

I'll just trust the Lord sent the snow for moisture. He knows best.

Wow, and ours is just the opposite, 66º, solid blue skies with sun shinning. A beautiful spring day, but later on down the road we will be sweating while your enjoying nice weather.

We had more come to chuch than I expected (Oh ye of little faith). We had 18 show up praise the Lord. The road to the church as so bad I could hardly see to stay on the road. So 18 is great as we typically have 40-45 on Sunday morning. We had a spirit filled morning! Thanks for Praying!

In 92 we bought a 4 X 4 S-10 Blazer, in 02 we got a Grand Cherokee 2 wheel drive. In December we got a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 4X4 V6 and sold our Jeep and I'm still driving our old 92 Blazer. We don't need 4 X 4 very often, but its nice to have when its needed.

Had a friend a few years back that had a Honda Pilot, they seemed to get great service out of it.

Glad you had a decent turnout in that weather, holster. The snow has pretty much gone away here. It's been raining the past few days, which is fine by me (I was born in Seattle...I like rain :thumb: ). I'll take rain over snow any day.

That'll be great! Maybe spring will be arriving...Although the rain could be a prOBlem for some of your folks who live on dirt roads - if they are anything like the dirt roads we had when we lived in WV!! Turned to mud and that mud had powerful suction capacity!

I was hesitant to mention MUD as most people can't comprehend the way it is around here. Got a hair cut the other day and the men where all saying.. "I don't mind the snow but I'm dead tired of the mud.!"

There usually is little rain here and typically not as much snow as this year. A LOT of county roads are hard packed dirt. In the summer it is so dry these dirt roads are almost just like pavement. The sun here is so hot that even if it rains, "mud" is a very short lived thing.

But this winter has been unusual. Temp swings here are big. It been below freezing during night all winter but days get up to 36 or so and the snow begins to melt. This goes on day after day and as the snow is melted more snow comes... So there has been constant hard freeze at night and constant melting and mud since December.

Some people have "ruts" in their lane that takes them up to their axles. I've had people that couldn't make it out of their driveway due to mud! I have one cattle-woman who's "driveway" is two miles long and it's all mud. Well... you get the picture.... Ugghhh

We still have a few country roads like that around here yet many of them have been oiled with pea gravel put on top, that has helped very much druing the wet winters we have some of the time.

Oh, Sunday morning we had a man, who has never been to church before it started or before anyone else had got to church and opened the front doors.

Yesteday he got there at about 9:29 AM, no one had arrived, so he goes home, them gets on the phone and calls some others telling them there will be no church services this morning. So I suppose you know what that did to our attendance on a beatifl Sunday morning. coolsmiley.gif

I still have not figured that one out, usually he walks in either 5 mixtures after Sunday school starts, & or as we take up the offering before preaching service.

Go figure!

yes, mud can be a big prOBlem.

you also have mud slide and in my area, there were several cases of road caving in (I forgot the name of it even though it is at the tip of my tongue...it's like a huge pothole)

take a look at this picture: http://www.acpworkshop.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/l-640-426-f6b02b25-8950-4fbe-a654-07a6b12527e0.jpeg (btw, http://www.acpworkshop.org is about appalachian culture)
