Another Book Downloaded

I'm working on a downloaded book:

A STUDY OF THE KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE
AND ITS INFLUENCE ON LIFE AND LITERATURE

CLELAND BOYD McAFEE, D.D.
May, 1912

I'm eliminating the hard returns in paragraphs and will add hyperlinks within the document from the contents to the appropriate section. I'm over half way with the hard returns.

Maybe others here would be interested in the turn of the previous century (I think Presbyterian educator) author. What caught my eye initially was the section, "THE KING JAMES VERSION--ITS INFLUENCE ON ENGLISH AND AMERICAN HISTORY"

You can remove hard returns in MS Word in one move in "find and replace." I cannot quite remember how, as I have returned to using Word Perfect Office 2000. You can remove them in WP also.

The first thing you need to do is to replace paragraph breaks with something else as it will remove those also. I suggest changing them to something like xxx which you can replace with a double hard return when you have finished removing the unwanted hard returns.

The code you need is HRt which you replace with

will already be there but you may need to change this to a space.

It is some time since I did this but have used it in both Word and WP to take hard returns from e-mails with short lines.

If you try this test it on a small portion of your text first so that you know it will work and if you mess that up you can undo it and try again.
