Dear Praying Family and Friends:
I received a disturbing call last night from my brother, Burnie Riblett (that nickname was given to him by his racing buddies years ago).
Last June he had a massive heart attack--almost died. God and prayer brought him through. Not long after, they discovered cancer on the right side of his face, operated, supposedly got it all. It came back with a vengeance!
He and his wife, Janet, met with the surgeon yesterday. He told them that without surgery he would die--and with surgery he had a 50-50 chance. It is a very aggressive cancer and surgery. He said they will probably have to remove 1/2 of his face, not knowing how deep it goes.
His dr's are pushing hard to get him to a surgeon at the University of Miami (Fl) to do the surgery. It must be done as soon as possible.
Someone said "the darker the night, the brighter the Light of Christ shines." I greatly appreciate your prayers on his, and his family's, behalf. As hard as it seems, I must pray for HIS will to be done. Thank God, he is ready to go to heaven if that is God's will.
I thank you in advance, with all my heart. One shouldn't have "favorite" siblings, but he has been my favorite as long as I can remember. He is 78.
