The Book, "Cowboy boots in darkest Africa" is an excellent read. It was written by Bill Rice and tells much about life among the primitive tribes. Cannibals were saved (they said the elbow joints are salty tasting!) as well as headhunters, etc. The book has pictures of the people but the women are topless--use discretion in your family.

Liberty within the pages of the Bible always means liberty to do that which is right in the sight of God.

The kids and I were able to go the Wesly Bell Ringer handbell concert tonight. That was GREAT! Good music + good company = wonderful time. They even let my kids try out their largest bell - it weighs 20 lbs.

Just noticed that it said this on the side of my Sweppes Ginger Ale bottle: Contents under pressure. Handle with care. How true of us too! When we're under pressure, we need more care and careful handling - though this may be a better slogan: Life is fragile, handle with prayer. ;)

(This so much reflects the state of much of what passes for Christianity in America today.) ‘Christian’ American Idol winner Carrie Underwood: I support same-sex ‘marriage’ LONDON, ENGLAND, June 11, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Country songstress Carrie Underwood has told a British newspaper she supports redefining marriage, in part based on her Christian beliefs. The 2005 American Idol winner, who has strongly identified as a Christian, told the (UK) Independent, “As a married person myself, I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love, and want to marry…I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people th…

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF HUMAN RELATIONS 1. Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting. 2. Smile at people. It takes seventy-two muscles to frown, and only fourteen to smile. 3. Call people by name. The sweetest music to most men’s ears is the sound of their own name. 4. Be friendly and helpful. If you would have friends, be friendly. 5. Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do is genuinely a pleasure; make it a pleasure to do so. 6. Be genuinely interested in people. You can like almost anybody if you try. 7. Be generous with praise—cautious with criticism. 8. Be considerate with the feelings of…

Yet another good movie that my wife and I watched - and let our kids watch. An older man starts having Bible studies with the young boys in his neighborhood. He teaches them Bible lessons in very different, but fun ways. Also, he teaches them life lessons - how to deal with bullies, friendships, etc. A good family movie!

Study suggests risks from same-sex parenting Two studies released Sunday may act like brakes on popular social-science assertions that gay parents are the same as - or maybe better than - married mother-father parents. “The empirical claim that no notable differences exist must go,” University of Texas sociology professor Mark Regnerus said in his study in Social Science Research. Using a “gold standard” data set of nearly 3,000 randomly selected American young adults, Mr. Regnerus looked at their lives on 40 measures of social, emotional and relationship outcomes. He found that, when compared with adults raised in married, mother-father families, adults raised by le…

Syria's Insurrection Is Not America's War By Patrick J. Buchanan Tuesday - June 5, 2012 In pushing for U.S. military intervention in Syria -- arming the insurgents and using U.S. air power to "create safe zones" for anti-regime forces "inside Syria's borders" -- The Washington Post invokes "vital U.S. interests" that are somehow imperiled there. Exactly what these vital interests are is left unexplained. For 40 years, we have lived with a Damascus regime led by either Bashar Assad or his father, Hafez Assad. Were our "vital interests" in peril all four decades? In 1991, George H.W. Bush recruited the elder Assad into his Desert Storm coalition that liberated Kuwai…

We have come to a time when we are continually on the defense. We dig our little spiritually foxholes and pile up our sandbags with our little spiritual peashooter and try to keep the Devil from getting us when we ought to be marching out like and army and having the Devil run from us.

I know about John Macarthur, Max Lucado, John Piper. The wife of our pastor told me to be careful in buying 'Christian' books, coz' not all books claiming to be in the Christian section are 'Christian' books. (Teaching is distorted etc.) Any more recommendation>?

Insight: In Greece, a painful return to country roots KONITSA, Greece (Reuters) - Thirteen years after abandoning rural Greece for a career in graphic design, Spiridoula Lakka finds herself in the last place she expected to end up - watering a patch of lettuce and herbs in her sleepy village. As Greece sank into its worst economic crisis since World War Two, Lakka had already given up her dream of becoming a web designer. Even waitressing seemed impossible. She faced a simple choice: be stranded without money in Athens, or return to the geriatric village where she grew up plotting to escape. At age 32, Lakka, an office clerk who also juggled odd jobs, joined a growing…

Legislative branch - Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together. Acts 19:32 United States - Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Romans 1:21 Anyone else think of a definition for the obvious chaos in the U.S.?

Is the GOP ready for its own gay candidate? (Video at link below) Richard Tisei is running for Congress with an unusual resume. He's a Republican from Massachusetts who is pro-choice, openly gay, and in favor of gay marriage. And yet despite running diametrically opposed to where most of the party is on social issues, Tisei is considered by top Republicans to be one of the top GOP candidates challenging incumbents this election "I consider myself a live and let live Republican. I think the government should get off your back, out of your wallet and away from the bedroom," Tisei says. On social issues he says the parties needs to "have advocates on both sides of the i…

UPS driver accused of being 'Peeping Tom' How do you feel about cases like this, where there is one person making the accusation? Here is another article, man is accused of rape, convicted, yet later the accusers admits that she lied. A 10-year nightmare over rape conviction is over When there's no evidence at all to back up the accuser, should there be a trial?

ANYBODY BUT ROMNEY By Dr. Patrick Jonston June 2, 2012 NewsWithViews.com [Disclaimer: The opinion expressed in this article are those of Dr. Patrick Johnston and not the opinion of NewsWithViews, it's staff and other writers.] The year is 1999. Clinton’s cigars and his mistress’ stained dresses are all that’s on the media’s mind. Christian conservatives are as giddy as a five-year-old on the eve of a Disney vacation. They are itchin’ to put an “R” in the White House. Their rallying cry? “Anybody but Clinton.” Nevermind that Texas Governor G. W. Bush endorsed abortion in cases of rape, incest, and maternal health. Nevermind that he appointed pro-…

Our pastor's wife lent a book to me about spiritual warfare. I was a former Catholic and the Christian view about spiritual warfare is very different. Also in comparison with evangelical Christians who also exorcise demons. We are urged to resist the devil and we shouldn't busy ourselves in exorcising people and places. As a Christian (genuine) we are sure that we will not be possesed by the devil since, we are under GOD's protection. Any comments/insights about this book? Any other book that you can recommend to me re: spiritual warfare since I'm a baby Christian. Was baptized last year.

I have a question about diabetes. My papa collapsed a few days ago. We know that he is diabetic because of the signs and symptoms. After getting conscious, he cannot walk anymore and lose strengh in his thigh, waist and legs. He is not paralyzed because he can still feel but the lower part of his body is very weak that he cannot walk alone and have to be assisted by my brother. Is this because of diabetes? or there is vitamins and minerals lack in his body? We will go to the doctor tomorrow for check up but just like to ask opinion if this is related to diabetes. He is always thirsty and losing weight. Please advise and pray for his situation. Thanks, Jeny

I just read several posts on Facebook posted by Christians, a few of which I actually know, talking about unbiblical, dangerous things. 1. Praying to angels. 2. Babies and children who died becoming angels. The two overlapped in some of the conversations as some of these Christians talked about praying to their dead babies/children/grandchildren who they think are now their guardian angels. Some Christians were comforting those who lost babies and children by telling them they are now angels in heaven. Some were saying the only way they can carry on is knowing their little babies now have their wings. I know these sort of ideas have been around a long time but …
