ARE YOU PRAYING TO THE ONLY TRUE GOD? By Marsha West May 16, 2010 NewsWithViews.com Christianity holds to the view that prayer is of the leading of the Holy Spirit. Octavius Winslow put it in these words: "It must be acknowledged by the spiritual mind that all true prayer is of the leading of the Spirit; that He is the author of all real approach of the soul to God. All true prayer is put into words by the Spirit. He is the Author of prayer in the soul." The scriptures speak of God the Holy Spirit residing within all who believe in the Son of God. The Spirit guides, instructs and empowers believers. (John 14:16-17) As well, the “Spirit of truth” confirms every…

THE GREAT MUSLIM PRESIDENT By Bernie Conrad May 16, 2010 NewsWithViews.com Will America wake up in time to elect a Christian? We all get e-mails of all shapes and sizes. It is often difficult to edit the smorgasboard of information. Though loaded with important and stupendous information coming from all angles, it is seldom that any one slug of ultra-pertinent information stands out against the rest. That is until yesterday when I received an email bearing a youtube video of our current president. What the film maker has done is to search what prOBably amounted to hundreds of speeches and interviews. Out of these the film was edited down to specific statements …

Isa 55:11 Gods Word will accomplish His purposes. It is His Word, that is blessed, not our delivery of it! Today’s “speaking” principles, or “principles of public speaking,” seem like manipulation and trickery. To sway, or influence a congregation, we need only the Holy Spirit, and His power. Methods to captivate the crowd, or “gimmicks” to bring about a certain affect to play on emotions, are, as I see it, ploys , worldly ploys, to “substitute” for the lack of Holy Spirit power. I realize that no one likes to listen to a “droll,” dull speaker, but why doesn’t the Word itself excite them? I enjoy good preaching, even if the delivery is bad! I would concentrate …

Bitterness I was, and perhaps am still, a bit bitter because of the attitudes of society toward returning Vietnam veterans. We came home to a hostile society; there was no fanfare, no rejoicing, no heroes welcome for us, just shame and degradation. This takes a toll on the veterans of the Vietnam and Korean wars. For all these years, I have lamented the fact that our veterans got a “raw deal” in the mistreatment they faced when returning home. Many of us did not see ourselves as heroes, by no means, but we thought that our service at least meant something to the American people, and were disappointed that we were not well received on the home front. If there w…

Is the War Coming Home? by Patrick J. Buchanan Faisal Shahzad sought to massacre scores of fellow Americans in Times Square with a bomb made of M-88 firecrackers, non-explosive fertilizer, gasoline and alarm clocks. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up a U.S. airliner over Detroit with a firebomb concealed in his underpants. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan shot dead 13 fellow soldiers at Fort Hood and wounded 29. Why did these men attempt the mass murder of Americans who did no harm to them? What impelled them to seek martyrdom amid a pile of American corpses? Though all were Muslims, none seems to have been a longtime America-hater or natural-born killer. Has…

TEA-Party Hypocrisy: How Much Socialism Is Acceptable? By Joel McDurmon | Published: April 30, 2010 I am quite in harmony with the main thrust of the TEA-Party movements. T-E-A, “Taxed Enough Already,” is a great rallying cry. “Taxed Too Much Already” would be better, but doesn’t square the convenient acronym. I fully support the TEA-parties’ stated aims to reduce taxes and limit government mainly because I, on principle, oppose socialism as Godless, anti-Christian, and destructive of society. But for these same reasons I have little faith in the success of the TEA-party as a movement. Why? Because I, on principle, oppose socialism, and most of the TEA-parties are c…

Time for an Amicable Separation Mon, May 10, 2010 Walter Williams Here’s the question asked in my September 2000 column titled “It’s time to part company”: “If one group of people prefers government control and management of people’s lives and another prefers liberty and a desire to be left alone, should they be required to fight, antagonize one another, risk bloodshed and loss of life in order to impose their preferences, or should they be able to peaceably part company and go their separate ways?” The prOBlem our nation faces is very much like a marriage where one partner has broken, and has no intention of keeping, the marital vows. Of course, the marriage can r…

THE FATE OF A PAGAN NATION By Sheriff Jim R. Schwiesow, Ret. May 10 , 2010 NewsWithViews.com “And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of your land yield their fruits.” -Daniel 9:13-14 “West Virginia Coal Mine Disaster: Funerals Begin as Hope Dwindles” “VENICE, Louisiana (Reuters) - A massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico washed up to wildlife refuges and seafood grounds on the Louisiana coast on Friday, as authorities struggled to avert what could become one of the worst U.S. ecologica…

I would recommend this book to people who would like to further understand the Arab-Islam mentality. The book is sightly dated, published in 1995. Missing from this volume are Gulf War II, Death of Arafat, and events after the destruction of the World Trade Center. However, in the 15 years since publication, the OBvious work of God in preparation for the Savior's return is clearly seen. The author doesn't use the KJV so frequent reference to it is required. He also makes some predictions on timing of events which have passed. I suppose anyone who writes concerning prophecy has trouble refraining from dates. The mindset of Islam and how other nations, includin…

The cross of Christ’s crucifixion speaks of the glory of God and of Heaven: The upright beam points to the Father in Heaven, just as Christ did in His earthly ministry; it is grounded in the earth and yet pierces the sky in the freedom of its message. It stands as a monument for Truth and Life, and nOBly points the way to both. It points to the future home and hope of all saints. The cross-bar speaks of an all inclusive love, as if the arms of God were to give the world a great big hug; this cross bar also speaks of direction, again including all men from every corner of the earth. It points in two directions, reminding us that there are different roads leading …

So Tiger Woods withdrew himself from the Players Championship today saying he has been playing with a bad neck for a month now. I'm not doubting that he does not have pain in his neck, but he should have finished the game. No doubt in my mind that if he was in contention, that he would have finish. He played with a hurt leg at the US Open.

Mother She prepares a feast From flour and yeast, And this, and that, and the other; She loves to love; She lives to give, There is no one quite like my mother. When tears abound, And fear’s surround, And trouble from sister or brother; She is always there To clear the air, She stands in the place called “mother”. She makes peace Among the least, And reconciles one with another; None can replace Her wonderful grace, No, there is no one like my mother. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MOM’S (None of us would be here without mothers!)

I'm sure many of you have heard about the California school that sent kids home from school because they had on American Flag apparel on Cinco de Mayo. This was done after complaints that t-shirts worn by them were provocative and deemed incendiary. America is a melting pot and should remain that way. I'm proud to be an American and I am proud that our nation is made up of all races and cultures. I love watching people get their american citizenship. We have prOBlems at the borders of this country and they are not there to keep people in, but rather to keep people out. Every time I see the American Flag it reminds me of the opportunity that it gave millions of people to…

From the April 30, 2010 Sword of the Lord....... What is Fundamentalism? It's New Testament Christianity before some man started messing with it. That means Jesus, the twelve apostles, Paul, Timothy and Titus were fundamentalists. They had a core of beliefs called "doctrine." Even in the New Testament era, it was necessary for them to discern truth from error (I John 4:6) and to give out "sound doctrine" (Titus 2:1). Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before the various denominations show up! Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before you start tinkering with doctrines you don't like! Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before …

False Virtue: The Politics of Lying About History by Thomas J. DiLorenzo In 1961 Life magazine invited the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and novelist ROBert Penn Warren (author of All the King’s Men, and nineteen other novels) to record his thoughts on the meaning of the American “Civil War” on the centennial of that event. Warren responded with a long essay on the “symbolic value of the war” which was eventually published as a small book entitled The Legacy of the Civil War. If ROBert Penn Warren were to write this book today, he would be loudly condemned as an Enemy of Society (and a “Neo-Confederate”) by all the usual defenders of the central state, from race-hus…

Man’s Wisdom: Found In Keeping God’s Law By Angela Wittman “Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you th…

I put this on my blog, but I thought I'd put it here to. Curious if there are any B-Ball fans out there. Here's a cut and paste from my blog..... So, you've seen stuff on my book and my family, now I'm going to tell you a little bit about me. Actually, just my "fandom" of the Phoenix Suns. I've been a Phoenix Suns fan since I was thirteen years old, in the days of Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan. In the entire Suns existence, they have never won a championship, and they've only made it to the finals twice, one of those times was with Charles Barkley. They have a tremendous rivalry with the San Antonio Spurs, who have won several championships. The Suns hav…

A local census worker in one week, less than a 40 hour week, received a check for more than $1000,00. This person is on SSI, SSI is what people draw that did not pay in to Social Security. Don't confuse SSI with SSD, one who has been disable and has paid into Social Security would draw SSD. Yes, she gets her censuses pay on top of her SSI. She also works part time as a waitress, but only cash, for OBvious reasons, if SSI got wind of that she would be cut off of SSI. But I suppose with census worker, its OK. I might add, she gets all of her medication free. Those who paid into Social Security and are disable and or of age to draw SS does not get this benefit, only …
