I had to re-read who this was addressed to but then I remembered the Bush push for amnesty for them. Anyone you know who signed the letter?

Just curious... I haven't really researched Glenn Beck but I hear him occasionally on the radio when I'm out and about doing errands. I know he is Mormon. However on his radio progams, even the short amounts of time I listen to him, he is plain that the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ and that the country needs revival...he speaks often of the founders of our country believing in Christ and serving God and says the most important thing in his life is to get the message out to the country to turn back to God. Is it possible for a Mormon to be saved? I've read books on fundamentalist Mormons (polygamists) and they are FAR from believing in true salvati…

Three Expectations of Love In relation to their stages. 1. Youth: Love is there; it is fresh, new, but it is a selfish love. One might ask, “What is a selfish love?” (The same with both parties.) Man: fleshly, physical; Lustful love. Man asks, “What can she do for me?” Woman: material love; “What will he give me” Secure love; takes comfort in knowing that she will be taken care of. This stage, for both parties, can be the hardest stage to endure. 2. Middle age: Secondly, love’s giving: Love asks, “What can I do for him/her?” The lusty love is settling, and a new phase begins; love is more secure, more enduring. Love is growing; it’s the …

Only a Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you don't 'HAVE' them, you 'PITCH' them. Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc., make up 'a mess.' Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of'yonder.' Only a Southerner knows exactly how long 'directly' is, ... as in; 'Going to town, be back directly.' Even Southern babies know that 'Gimme some sugar' is not a request for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table. All Southerners know exactly when 'by and by' is. They might not…

We received an unsolicited survey/contribution request from the Democrats. Hit them where it hurts them! If you receive “postage paid by addressee” return envelopes from the Democratic National Committee (DNC): Don’t discard it. Load it with junk mail and return it to them. It costs them money by weight (?). So, make every one of their dollars count for nothing. They usually have “NO POSTAGE NECESSARY IF MAILED IN THE UNITED STATES” marked in the stamp location. Here is the enclosed survey (disguised contribution request). They aren’t the slightest bit interested in what you or I think. The following questions are rated (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, Undecided). SECTI…

My Dad My dad wasn’t a bad man, as far as the flesh is concerned; he did his best to raise his children in the bewilderment of a rapidly changing world. He never did tell me that he loved me; I never heard him praise me for well doing, but I know that “in his own way” he loved me, and I grew up with the hope that I had pleased him and become someone he could be proud of. It didn’t work out that way, unfortunately. He passed away many years ago at the ripe old age of sixty-four; he left little behind for us in the way of preparing us for the world and its wiles, whether monetarily or in the framework of wisdom. My dad, as far as I know, was never saved. My Go…

SECULAR CONSERVATISM By Coach Dave Daubenmire June 10, 2010 NewsWithViews.com Secular--not pertaining to or connected with religion Let me see if I have this straight. He is the champion of the "conservative movement" even though he has struggled with drug addiction to the pain killer oxycotin, was found to be using Viagra even though he was unmarried, and recently took the walk down the aisle for his fourth till-death-do-us-part vow. This "king of conservatism" was twenty-seven when his new bride was born. At the wedding celebration he treated his guests to a million-dollar serenade by the music queen Elton John, who recently declared that Jesus was gay, financ…

Acts 8 “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.” (v. 4) When the persecution came, the disciples did not rejoice in it, but the Gospel was spread throughout the world as a result of it. We cannot always see the need, nor the reason behind the persecution, but God has a purpose in it. It was Paul that had a hand in spreading the gospel, even before he was saved! As he wreaked “havoc” on the church, God was using it for His own glory, for the promotion of His kingdom. I am sure that the death of Stephen had a great impact on the early church too. Did you ever notice that growth comes through persecution? As a nation or a pe…

FROM THIS TIME FORWARD By Sheriff Jim R. Schwiesow, Ret. June 8, 2010 NewsWithViews.com “I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there were none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.” -Isaiah 53: 4-4 From this time forward the people of this nation will not know a day of peace, there will be no good news, each bad day will fade into another equally bad day, and the black and ghostly apparitions of the former will blend with the grim and ghastly tidin…

What's Scripture Got To Do With It? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Buddy Hanson -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Covenant News ~ May 21, 2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have you ever wondered why Christians insist that God's Word is true, then live as though it doesn't matter? As Christians, we agree that God's Word is true and is therefore our only trusted source for how to live, work, play, raise our families and self-govern ourselves. (2 Tim. 3.16) We also know that in order to bring honor to God with …

Much has been posted here on world news, and the atrocities of the day, how about a little glory for the Lord now? He is still on the throne! Matthew 9 Isn’t it amazing that the elements, which have no scruples at all--no sense of right and wrong--no will of their own can OBey the words of our Lord, when men have such a time doing it? One clearly sees that the Word of the Lord has great power; the elements have no choice but to OBey, and why should they hope to do otherwise? My friends, we hold this same Word in our hands every day! What power we possess! What neglect we give to it! The atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima told of an awesome power--so…

Philippians 4 “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.” (v. 5) To use a naval term, let us be "even keeled" or steadfast in all endeavors. This is a restraint of passions and indulgences of appetites; it is to control rage, and extinguish anger. Moderation is the "middle of the road", so to speak, and not drastic swings to the right or left. It is no extreme or excess in any direction or practice. When we allow others to anger us, we are not practicing moderation. If we are not angry all the time, we should not get angry any time! This is a very hard thing to practice, but the Word never changes, only circumstances change. When we rea…

PRIDE COMES BEFORE A FALL By Paul Proctor June 2, 2010 NewsWithViews.com And it’s a long way down America President OBama has officially declared June to be "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month” here in America – essentially a repeat of last year’s proclamation. In fact, both are published on the whitehouse.gov website. This year’s declaration in part, reads as follows: “NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2010 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon all Ameri…

Matthew 3:1,2 1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. How many of us professing Christians life could be examined by a unbeliever, with the unbeliever coming to the concussion that we expected Christ's return to me imminent, in our life time? That is the message Jesus & both John the Baptist came proclaiming. Be honest with your self, do you live as it you truly believe the kingdom of Heaven is as hand? That is, is your live a living testimony that y…

As you may have already noticed the sermon page is up and running. Instead of reinventing the wheel, I just took IPB's Blog and converted it over to a sermon directory. I still have some work to do in the language files so you still will see the word "Blog" in a few places, but overall the software is running. I look forward to reading the sermons posted on here.

"God Bless America" I used to be an enthusiastic singer of this song, but as I have aged and reflected, I am troubled by the question, “Why SHOULD God bless America?” We have destroyed His second-greatest gift (after His sacrifice of his only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ), and called it “choice.” We have banned God and His word from our schools and called it “Separation of church and state,” which was never part of the US Constitution. That document called for freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. We forbid fathers to chasten their children as the Bible instructed them to do, and called it “rights of the child.” We have allowed children to violate the c…
