2010 Annual Report We want to thank all those who helped us this last year. When I look around at all that happened in 2010 I am reminded of the words of Jesus in John 9:4 "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." The world in which we live is getting darker all the time. We must ask ourselves: How long do we have to reach the world with the gospel? While giving was down this year God opened up some doors that allowed us to send bibles and scripture to Ghana and Nigeria via containers in the States. This significantly reduced our shipping costs and allowed us to use the majority of our budget to purchase bibles…

Glenn Beck's New Book Reveals He Embraces New Age Theology, Is a Knowledgeable Mormon, and a Universalist By Brannon S. Howse In August of 2010, I predicted on my national radio program that it was only a matter of time before Glenn Beck would release a distinctively religious book that would promote his New Age Mormonism and universalism. I sensed that Glenn was setting himself up to be the politically conservative alternative to Oprah. Many self-professing Christians cannot see what Beck is up to but there are those in the unsaved world that seem to be exhibiting more worldview understanding than some in the Christian community. The Business Insider published an a…

The RCC is considering sainthood for late Pope John Paul II what do you think? He has to have performed miracles. So a nun has come up with one... The first signs that Sister Marie Simon-Pierre was about to experience what many consider a miracle came after evening prayers, when it seemed a voice spoke to her demanding: “Take your pen and write.” The French nun, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease four years earlier, in 2001, did as commanded. “And my handwriting was perfectly legible” she said. “Astonishing! I lay on my bed amazed.” Only hours before she had tried to write the name of John Paul II, the charismatic, globe-trotting pope to whom she …

I have just been made aware of a site that provides personal information such as name, address, spouse and children's names and ages, financial information, etc. Some of the more detailed information is available for a price, but available nevertheless. The site is Spokeo.com . I was extremely upset when I discovered it, but opting out of their "service" so that your personal information is not visible is easy and free. Just click on the 'privacy' link at the very bottom of their home page and follow the instructions. I also discovered that WhitePages.com has similar information available, and if you are willing to pay for a subscription they too will provide …

Some of you long time members may remember Micki Harjo...I don't think she was ever on this board but she was on a related board a long time ago....anyway they are missionaries out in New Mexico on an Indian Reservation. She's 42 years old....in December she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Last week she went in for surgery to remove the cancer...well it seemed to go well but then there were complications and it seems that she is dying right now. Last I heard they are running brain scans to check for any activity and then will be removing the ventilator when her mom arrives. Very sad.....things happened fast...and then a semi routine surgery turned into death. Life…

There is a girl I have as a FB friend that my husband and I went to high school with. I wasn't ever good friends with her but I knew her and talked to her sometimes. Anyway she sent me the friend request a couple months back and in a way, ever since then, I sort of wish she had not. She posted that first week about having a hard week, wishing things would look up, life needs to be normal, etc... so I tried to post some encouraging comments to her and tell her I will pray for her. She said she appreciated it but that was about it. I suppose as the weeks went on I realized it wasn't an isolated issue, but a frequent thing she does so my replies became more rare. I even enco…

Killing Dogs (An analogy) “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” (Rom. 8:13) If I had a dog nipping at my heels everywhere I went, and he kept biting my feet, I would only have two permanent solutions for the prOBlem--either kill the dog, or cut off the foot! Killing the dog would be the easier of the two, since he may decide to nip at the other foot, but killing dogs can bring much reproach from society, no matter what the reason. Nonetheless, killing the dog would be less painful for us, and more convenient. We must kill the dog, in spite of the reproaches of men. As Chris…

Heard some preaching lately on Jn. 14:1-4 (actually that was not the main topic though) about Christ building our mansion. Some say that our mansion is merely an apartment, etc., but if the Bible says mansion, then it means mansion! Anyway, the speaker went on to say how Jesus is now in heaven, preparing a place for us. That is the common thought here, but I wonder if the "preparation" is not referring to Calvary, and not an actual work in heaven. What I mean is, What sort of preparation would Christ have to make that is not already made? Wouldn't He merely have to speak it, and it is done? He was (in his earthly life) a carpenter's son, so do you think He is actu…

Please give me your opinion. Here is the first draft of the When Death Comes Knocking video. I know I still need to do some tweaking with some of the timing but what do you think? So I make it a little longer? Add a few more verses? I'm not really to keen on the music either. Would like to find something different. http://www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=d0680367e1e479be5f13dd&skin_id=1008&utm_source=otm&utm_medium=text_url Thanks. God bless.

Happy New Year! May we serve God and finally know Him this year. "One of these days some simple soul will pick up the Book of God, read it, and believe it. Then the rest of us will be embarrassed." - Leonard Ravenhill. May that finally happen this year. God bless, Joel ><>. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

First, may you embrace the blessed hope in this new year, if you've not done so already. Second, we who have this hope can smile, God does love us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Third, those who have not received Christ as Lord have a very serious eternal prOBlem. John 3:36 ...and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord…

Why does it seem like every year goes by faster and faster? Maybe it has to do with my age. Nah, that can't be it. I just wanted to add an announcement to say "Thank you" to all of you members here on Online Baptist. Of course I am being bias here, but I believe that we have the greatest membership of any Baptist forum. This past year Online Baptist went through a major software change, and even though some of you did not like it, you still supported OB through this change. I think you all have grown to like it though. In 2010 I really do not have any major plans for Online Baptist (Of course that can change in an instant). Instead of concentrating on features, I p…

KUHNER: The fall of America Bush and OBama have more in common than they think By Jeffrey T. Kuhner - The Washington Times 5:39 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 With 2010 drawing to a close, the American moment is ending not with a bang but a whimper. The 2000s will be remembered as the era of American decline. Instead of trying to reverse this, Washington is hastening it. The lame-duck Congress, with help from Republicans, passed President OBama's tax deal, which adds nearly another trillion to the debt. It is a massive stimulus in disguise - with no offsetting spending cuts. Moreover, Mr. OBama - again with GOP help - succeeded in getting "don't ask, don't t…

ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE INEVITABLE? By Paul Proctor December 29, 2010 NewsWithViews.com Don’t wait until it’s too late Well, we’ve almost reached the end of another year. Much has been written and published by a host of commentators about the ominous signs ahead for our country’s government, economy, health and spirituality. In my near eleven years of writing a regular column, I can safely say that things have dramatically changed in all four of these categories – and not for the better. But, that’s not really news. There seem to be two kinds of people in our world today: those who are preparing for the inevitable and those who are, for whatever reason, ignori…

Kellner - The Washington Times 8:40 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 Its cadence is found in the speeches of Abraham Lincoln and the lyrics of Paul Simon. Renowned narrator Alexander Scourby and country music legend Johnny Cash have recorded spoken versions of the text. It's estimated that 1 billion copies have been printed since the first volume rolled off the press in 1611. The King James Version of the Bible, also known as the "Authorized Version," marks its 400th anniversary in 2011, …

12.27.10 | Merrill Goozner | MedCitizen "Death panel fears force OBama, health reformers to hide The OBama administration may come to regret its decision to sneak a rule into a Medicare’s annual update for reimbursement rates that would reimburse physicians for helping the elderly write end-of-life directives. As The New York Times revealed, the rule was published in ’early November,’ yet was deliberately kept quiet by supporters to avoid invoking the wrath of the ’death panels’ crowd. By violating their own promise to run an open government, they’ve needlessly endangered a much-needed policy. First, let’s be plain about the importance of this measure. As I and mill…
