Child of God, or child of the Devil?

Hello Family of God,

We are living in perilous times where many are those who are self-deceived into believing that they are saved, and are children of God; but they have failed to do a self-examination of their fruits. What sort of fruits are you producing? Do you possess Divine and Unconditional Love? Do you LOVE your enemies and pray for them? So many claim to do such, but the LORD knows their hearts and see them for the hypocrites that they truly are.

"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to [the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience]: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of [the flesh] and of [the mind]; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." (Ephesians 2:1-3)

The Greek noun "air" (Grk. aeros) refers to the dense atmospheric regions where there is air traffic.

Jesus said that all people belong in one of two categories: the children of Satan (cf. Jn. 6:70; Acts 10:38; 13:10; Heb. 2:14; 1 Jn. 3:8-12; Rev. 20:10), or the children of God (Matt. 5:9; Jn. 1:12; 8:44; Rom. 8:14-16; 2 Cor. 6:18; Gal. 3:26; Eph. 1:4; 2:10; 5:1; 1 Pet. 2:10; 1 Jn. 2:28; 3:1,10; 5:1-13).

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom [the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not], lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

The god of this world literally has unbelievers on a leash whether they realize it or not; and they are the ones who are under the mind controlling power of the devil and his host of agents who dwell in the heavenly realms, and even some below the earth. Satan entices the lost with sinful desires that appeal to the flesh, eyes, and pride of oneself; however, it is far more complex as a result of the innumerable amount of subsets that fall into these categories. It is the heart, soul, strength and mind in which the devil is out to conquer in the lives of those who reject the Gospel Message (Gen. 3:1-19; Matt. 16:22-24;  Lk. 22:3; Jn. 13:27; Acts 5:3-4; 8:9-25; 2 Cor. 4:3-4; 1 Tim. 6:9; Eph. 2:1-3).

"And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, [The first of all the commandments is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with [all thy heart], and with [all thy soul], and with [all thy mind], and with [all thy strength]: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:28-31)

"He that [hath my commandments, and keepeth them, HE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME]: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." (John 14:21)

It is only through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that anyone is able to do the above; for without it, one would follow the course of this world and its system of wickedness and sensuality. The desire for carnal desires being fed with the mind and unregenerate spirit of man must be replaced with a new heart and its longing to please the Lord with not only our minds, but with our heart, soul, and strength as well.

  • Heart: (Grk. kardias)
  • Soul: (Grk. psyches)
  • Mind: (Grk. dianoias)
  • Strength: (Grk. ischyos)

The combination of these nouns is used to convey the sense, "every single part of you" In the Bible, "heart" and "soul" are synonyms, with the former concentrating on the inner person (where spirit and mind connect). "Mind" can also be used for the internal person (since it's impossible to separate out our emotions); "strength" refers to applying oneself to loving the  Lord. Together, these provide a powerful command to love the Lord with all we are. This passage is not, however, illustrative of "biblical anthropology", that is, the Bible's teachings about how man is constituted -- the opposite in fact: it takes an understanding of those things to process this passage."Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because [GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, than he that is in the world]. [They are of the world]: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. [We are of God]: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error." (1 John 4:4-6)

It is impossible for anyone who loves God can love the world at the same time. The Love of God is in contrast to the the love of the world system; i.e., if anyone truly Loves God and Christ, he/she will hate the world and its system (e.g., "the lust of the flesh, eyes, and the pride of life"). If you are not in opposition to that which is against God and His Eternal Truth, then you are for the world, and not against it and its ideologies (cf. Matt. 4:1-25; Jn. 15:19; 17:11,14; 2 Cor. 10:4-6; Eph. 2:2; 6:12-13; 1 Jn. 5:4; Rev. 12:9).

"If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." (John 15:19)

When Jesus Christ returns to set up His Kingdom on Earth, He will send out the reapers (angels) to gather His elect from every nation around the world. These reapers are spirit beings who are the original sons of God, and they are able to distinguish the wheat (True Christians) from the tares (false converts) by knowing who possesses the Omnipresent Spirit of God which they are able to see. Those who are devoid of the Spirit are gathered collectively and separated from the elect, and the unbelievers will be cast from the presence of God and into a furnace of fire at the end of the age to be tormented for all of Eternity (Matt. 13:39-42; 24:31; 25:31-33,41; 2 Thess. 1:6-7; Rev. 14:15; 20:11-15).

God Bless!
