More deflection and avoidance and accusations towards others to avoid answering why you are attacking what you say you are...Christian and Baptist. It's not becoming...it's not Christian...and it's NOT good. I'm FAR from painting with a wide brush...and the continued accusations from you towards me aren't helping your cause. We want to know why you're consistantly attacking Christianity and Baptists when you say you are both of these things. This isn't the attitude of someone who knows the Lord.

There you go again painting with a wide brush....and making blanket statements. Prove they'll be selling out, please! The Bible tells us that the "gates of hell" won't prevail against the church, yet, you seem determined to lay the church down. Whose side are you on?
-
Deflecting isn't your strong suit, brother. I never paint with the wide brush, but you seem to be incapable of doing anything but...thus all the people quesitoning your judgement. I don't see where many are talking positively about it...they're preaching against it...and the SBC is doing just a much preaching against it as the IFB churches are.

Don't you just love hit and run posters?

After Christ was risen, he didn't refer to himself as "flesh and blood". He referred to himself as "flesh and bone". If, when we are arisen, we are to be like him, I would say that our bodies would be flesh and bone...no blood.

Morales, when are you going to stop with the blanket statements that make no sense? All denominations are going through this right now. My request...get real and stop bashing what you say you allegedly are...Christian and Baptist.

Baptist are Saved by Faith, and not by Works

Nor was I...that doesn't answer the question, and YOU opened yourself up to the question. We all would appreciate an explanation, please. -

Morales, where do you get Christ coming back for the seven churches? Have you ever truly STUDIED the Book of the Revelation in detail? If you had, you wouldn't be making the statements you're making. -

Yet, without his ressurection, his death would have meant nothing. -
God is a spirit...yes...But, Christ still had a physical body when he was raised, ascended, etc.

You seem to be trying more to insight than to rightly divide anything. The only Baptists that I know that say that you can lose your salvation are the Free Will Baptists...and many of them don't even hold this position any longer. -

Morales...why feign ignorance here? If you're an "evangelist" you should KNOW the answers to these questions. Why would a person lose their salvation for not losing a bad habit? -
The Easter Egg Hunt Begins
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Church Related Discussions
A LOT of things done in churches these days are Scriptural...so??? Most of the churches I've grown up in for the past 60 years have had Easter Egg hunts. -
Please, don't be intentionally obtuse. There's NOTHING wrong with having an "order of service". It helps to keep things fluid, but organized. Can I ask in all sincerety, what is your problem with churches, pastors, other Christians? You seem to be totally negative about all of these. Many of us here have noticed it and made mention of it. Yet, you seem to continue with the acts of a critic instead of one who uplifts others.

You seem to have a very poor understanding of what is a "work" and what isn't. That's not good for an "evangelist." -
The article posted was posted in the forum addressed "Southern Baptists" on Facebook recently. It has also been sent to me by several Calvinist friends.....I can't say that I agree with the information as posted....What do you think? Though this is posted in the SB forum on FB, I'm finding that many of my Calvinist IFB friends believe what is posted in this article as well. I thought that ""believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" WAS asking Jesus into ones heart....apparently, the writer of the article disagrees. https://truthingrace.com/2009/07/21/ten-reasons-not-to-ask-jesus-into-your-heart-by-todd-friel/?fbclid=IwAR1hF6LYnvyA9JcDooGCQhrV5RudO8C_joOpXeW61USZU8RbHwsoalhLo1s

Baptist are Saved by Faith, and not by Works

There are SOME Baptist churches that don't give an invitation...not many, but I do know of a few that we have visited in the past that didn't. There are many evangelical churches that also don't give an invitation, but do tell people near the end of the service that if they feel they need to make a decision and would like help or want to pray with someone to speak to the deacons or one of the church staff and they will do what they can to help. Having an invitation, when one walks up an aisle, it's not a work....I don't know where you'd get such an idea. -
It's true that they can't control all of their speakers. But, I also know that I don't agree with all fo this point of view. Partial truth is still a lie.

I know many Calvinists who are great soulwinners. They firmly believe that God alone knows who will and who won't be saved, and that it's their job to preach/present the Gospel to everyone. I don't believe I know but a handful of Calvinists who don't witness actively. -
She had her first PT treatment today...we had to drive all the way from our home into Nashville (50+ miles away) for that. She did pretty well. She's sore, but, I believe she'll recover. She's got to go back tomorrow. Hopefully she'll be able to go to work for a few hours, then to therapy and then back to work. We're keeping track of the miles so her employer will reimburse us for the gas. Had to fill up the tank on the way home...at half a tank the gas cost us over $48.00. We got that at Walmart (Murphy Oil). If we'd have gotten it at Kroger, it would have been over $60.00. I believe that her employer will take care of her. She's always there and stays late, is in early, etc. Besides, we know we have little control over what is going on, how much things cost, etc., and that God will supply all our needs. Thank you for the prayers.

My wife suffered a fall yesterday after clocking in for work. She fell and hurt her back and right shoulder. She didn't tell me yesterday morning when she called, but waited until last night. She was in a lot of pain last night and only got about 1 1/2 hours sleep. She did go to work this morning, as they want her to go and see the company physician to see if there is any damage....of course...we ALL know whose side the company doctor is going to be on. We have little to no faith in them, and we already have our doctor ready to assess the possible damage. Please pray for my wife and her back and shoulder. Being a lead, and working in an "at will" state, this puts her in a very bad situation. We know God is in ultimate control...pray we will keep our focus on him through all of this. There's a lot more riding on it than we care to admit. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what Grace Presbyterian in Peoria, IL was, but when I was in high school at Peoria Christian School, it was pastored by a Baptist. He was there for many years, and I attended there when I had to work in Peoria on Sundays at Mr. Steak. I know their lessons weren't "dictated" by the denomination.
