you're right, John81. As Christians, we should be there for fellow brothers and sisters, at least in prayer.

The thing that I'm afraid of is the fact that I'm so far from being a perfect Christian. I wonder, does God answers prayers for other Christians when you're doing something wrong yourself?

I always thought about doing a certain list with names on it, but something always came up and stole that idea. I had the intention but it wasn't enough. Also I don't know how long should one pray for another person: is it a week or until we hear the better news? It's a bit difficult to develop this habit.

With regards to praying for requests posted here it seems best to pray right after reading the request. That way you are sure to pray. Some prayer requests deal with ongoing situations and a person could pray more later, if they feel led to do so. Depending upon the request a person might pray for that request once, maybe pray for a few days, weeks or whatever you feel led to do.

For prayers in the Prayer For Lost Family Members thread, such prayers are ongoing, long-term prayers. Myself, I attempt to be sure to pray regarding those requests daily on an ongoing basis. Sometimes I will pray over them while here, sometimes I will go to that thread and read over it again and pray, sometimes I will pray about this during my morning, afternoon or night-time prayers.

It's really up to each of us to determine for ourselves, with the leading of the Holy Ghost, how often to pray and when to pray.
