They were a bit lower than what I thought they would be. Judging on what Linda and I have to spend with the income we have, many people must have some very high incomes judging from the money they seem to spend on homes, cars, many trips to town, vacations, and ect.

Many assistance programs to help the "poor" don't go by those figures. As well, each State sets its own terms for State aid.

A guy I went to school with, as well as many others, get post office boxes in the state across the river so they can file for "assistance" over there since they allow one to make more money and still qualify and they also give out more "assistance" than this state.

What passes for poverty in this country would be considered rich by half the planet.

Those who know how to work the system can get loads of money and other things from the state and federal government and this leaves them with lots of "extra" money from their jobs to buy luxuries the rest of us can't.

Its quite amazing at how many people cheat to get aid & welfare.

I know for sure in our VA system many of the veterans cheat, and that makes it double hard on honest veterans. One day at the VA hospital one veteran told me how he done his where he could collect benefits, his actual income was much higher than mine, but yet he makes no Co-pay, gets travel pay,

Later I saw him and his wife in the parking lot and they were driving a rather new $50,000 plus vehicle.

We've got a great system, the problem is there be not many honest people.

Jerry, why worry about how much you spend when you can BORROW!

That is why we will bail out many two-story suburban home mortages with BMWs parked in the garage with money borrowed from China!

The fed must have wised up...they saw all these people getting into borrowed debt problems and decided to join the crowd

I'm not really worried about it, I was really wondering what the poverty level was. I figured I was much closer to it that what I am. Oh no, I don't want to borrow no money either, but I feel sure most any loan company would be glad to loan me money on our home and the land it sets on being as its all paid for. I don't want to buy nothing on credit, & I don't want any credit cards. We've got no debts and I like that way. We just bought a new TV, saved the money them bought it. I know that is not the America way but I feel its the best way.

It actually feels very good to be debt free and contented. I just wish more Christians would try it and get out of the rat race to have and have worldly possessions and trying to keep up with the world. I really believe they would be surprised how much more time they would have for God, family, & friends plus the peace of mind that comes with it.

Yes, Obama has joined in with the average Americans way, trying to spend Americas way out of the financial problems it has found itself in. But he is just digging us deeper in to financial ruins. But do not let your heart be troubled, the big boys who have been greedy along and got us into the mess are still getting plenty of money, Obama is feeding them our tax money and or printing up more money to hand out to them.
