I came across this teaching of the Grace Evangelical Society recently.
What are some of the main components of the Zane Hodges, Bob Wilkin, GES ?Crossless? gospel? Following is how the ?Crossless? gospel boils down.

1) A lost man does not need to know, understand or believe anything about who Jesus is and what He did to provide salvation.

In spite of this, he can be born again by believing in a promise of eternal life.

2) A lost man can be ignorant of or consciously reject the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ Jesus, but according to GES teaching he can still be born again.

The GES considers an open rejection of Christ's Deity an issue to be resolved after he believes in the promise of eternal life. Here is a sample of what ?Crossless? advocates believe evangelism ought to be,

?In evangelism, we have a targeted goal. We are seeking to bring someone to believe that they have eternal life simply by believing in Jesus for it? even if misconceptions about Him are present.?

Has anyone ever heard of this strange and dangerous teaching?

Not officially - but I know people that basically have the same approach when it comes to evangelism. Another Gospel - and no true foundation.

Linda, check out this interview (if you like listening to podcasts) http://www.carm.org/audio/pod/rec101107.mp3

It's an interview between Matt Slick (some radio theologian guy who I lay no claim to except that he seems to know some basic doctrine) and Doug Paggitt (godfather of the Emergent Mafia). Later in the interview Slick speaks of his run in with one of the "emergent" women "pastors"... and she states that you don't have to believe in the resurrection, etc. to be saved.

I am telling you... it's all part of the Babylon Mystery Religion... It's the Enigma.

This seems to be the general course of "Christianity" these days.

Like Jerry said, they preach another Gospel, which is no Gospel at all.

Rather than teach biblical salvation, they teach "other" ways to be okay with God.

All of this leads to folks saying some simple, often basically meaningless, "sinners prayer" and then being told they are assured of eternal life in heaven. Still lost, but with a false sense of security. This makes these folks all the more difficult to actually reach for Christ. :sad
